Hi, I have been really down lately but to top things off my molar has been hurting for 5 days now. It is the one from which evil mercury cast was taken off. Now, below the tooth I have a bump in a form of a pencil sharpener, which is somewhat of a red color, and is painful affecting the whole side of the head. I tried to pop it, but it was really painful and bad smell came out. Then the bump turned blue and grew in size causing more pain and suff ering. Doing some research, I am afraid that this is root canal infection, namily my tooth is dead. I have 2 options: root canal or extraction. Obviously it's not going to be root canal, therefore extraction. But now how can I, a young handsome man be missing a molar on my left bottom side? The thought makes me so depressed. How will I be able to chew with my left side. It's like a big part of me is going to be missing for the rest of my life. I need some suggestions or help cause I can't think straight from this. Hi Alex, if it should turn out that this is right, your tooth is dying, you'd definitely be wise to have it extracted. It is unfortunate for anybody to lose a tooth or teeth at any age, but devastating when you are young. However, many have this occur at any age through gum disease and other problems.

No reason why, if you do have it extracted, that you need to walk around with a missing gap and nothing to replace the tooth or the root.

Here is a link that will tell you about an implant made from zirconium (one of the most biocompatible materials you can have in your mouth so I hear). It is german made. This replaces not only the tooth, but the root also, which will keep your facial structure the same.

By the way, the top biologic dentist in my country who only uses the best materials (he's very fussy), uses zirconium implants so I have heard. He won't do root canals at all. He is very aware of oral toxicity, but obviously he is also aware of the appearance of a person also!

Noone will even see the back of your mouth trying to save a molar is a waste of money,and it could lead to more problems later on.
BTW i'm saying this because i had a back molar and a wisdom tooth extracted about 2 months ago.
One was roott canaled and filled with amalgam to the root,so my only option was extraction and removal of the periodontal nerve and cleaning of the underlying tissue to lower ridk of future cavitation.
I than had to have the wisdom tooth removed because of nerve damage form having the other tooth extracted,along with it having a deep filling.

alex. I had a root canal done and it was the turning point in my health. Every "minor" problem I had became worse. I ended up getting all of my mercury fillings out and get Ozone treatments at the root canal site for infections. I should get it removed, but I know what you mean about having a tooth removed. The thought of it can really provoke a lot of emotions. One thing I did learn is that you have to either get an implant or some type of parital for the empty spot. The tooth opposite the one taken out will start to protrude out if there is no imput on the opposite side. Even just wearing a retainer or false tooth a couple hours a night is enough. The thought of having a false tooth really bothered me, so I decided to keep the root canal and get the ozone treatments. I was not aware of the material mentioned above and this sounds like a good option.

Thank you all for your replies. Looks like I will have to get the implant. I bet that' going to cost a bomb. My understanding is that if something that was not meant to be in mouth is in there 24/7, some detiriorating effect will be ocorring, regardless of persons genes, etc. I still have mild pain this morning, so I am going to make an oppointment to see Mr. Nice Guy. I'll let you know how it goes.

Dear Alex getting a tooth root canal filled was the start of my illness, of course has I want ill at the time I let my ordinary dentist fill it and found later she had filled it right up to near my sinuses she know the tooth was also badly infected still not knowing the cause of my illness i stupidlylet her remove it too she first broke off the filling, most of which i swallowed, then broke off the tooth, drilled and cut out the roots and just sewed it back up. If only id known then what i do now. Two days later i declined rapidly. i now have to have he site checked next week for infection, bacteria whatever. I dont care about the tooth not being there just wish id have known then what i do now

Hi Alex, everything costs a bomb. They make the most money they can out of patients, regardless of what they do. I find it sickening, considering most of the stuff they do is to UNDO the bad they're already done. I hope that if you decide to get that implant, it is not going to be financially out of your depth.

Yeah, anything that is in our mouth 24/7 is going to have some effect for sure, also depends on the state of the person's immune system too, as to how they react to things and cope and how well their elimination systems are working.

I can't believe this, but my crown on top of my root canaled tooth just cracked off! I actually cut my finger on it because it is so sharp. The tooth underneath looks dark grey, almost black! I am facing exactly the same decision. My lower back molar has a root canal that has been causing me a lot of problems with my immune system. That tooth has always been sensitive (not horribly though) since it was done a year ago and I was told by the endodontist that I could have problems because he couldn't get all of the root due to a curve in the root. He said it could fail in the future and I would have to get an apicoectomy done (I won't!) or it would have to be removed. Note: this was done before I learned about mercury and the problems with root canals, or I wouldn't have had the root canal done.

My dentist suggested extraction and getting a night guard with a built in "bump" of an artificial tooth that would serve as a spot for the upper teeth to contact at night to keep them from erupting. Alternatively, he suggested an experimental treatment where they open up the tooth, remove any mercury stuff that might have been put in, and use ozone treatments to kill the anaerobic bacteria before recrowning it. However, there is no guarantee that this will work for any length of time. I was told it could work for 6 months or 60 years - they just don't know. He did say that they can check how it is doing by measuring the bacteria at the gumline w/o having to reopen it. The advantage to this is that there is still a tooth root to hold a crown for chewing and keeping the other teeth in place, and perhaps newer treatments would be available before it goes.

He did not say much about implants. I don't believe he does them, but I'm not sure about his philosophy on them. I know that the books I have read clearly state that a dead tooth needs to come out, but I'll have to check on the implant thing.

I feel for you on the tooth. Not only is mine a back tooth, but I have already had 4 wisdom teeth and 4 regular teeth removed for orthodontia purposes because my mouth is small, so removing this one leaves me with only one on that side that is molar-like for chewing. I also don't want to screw up the years of orthodontia I had done.

The cost on extraction and guard was about $1,000, vs. $1,500 for trying the ozone treatment. It looks like an implant is about $3,000. Trying the ozone would be a gamble because I could spend the money and still need to pay for an extraction later.

whatever you decide to do you must get rid of all that bacteria and infection it is the most important thing. The infection in my root canal filled tooth and the one next to it have travelled around my body and i am now in a mess. I was actually told by a dentist who has since looked at the site that it was so bad i should have had it removed by a surgeon in hospital and cleaned extensively. He said people dont realise how damaging this stuff is and can actully by itself cause heart conditions. What the hell have they done to us all and we have to pay the cost in being ill and financially strained. It is one huge scandal.

That is absolutely correct...the infection from root canals is linked to heart disease and many other serious illnesses. Some people say that removing the root canals improved their health more than removing mercury amalgams.

There is no such thing as a good root canal.

Hi Everyone,

Guess what, the first dentist filled practicly every tooth with amalgams and other poisonous porcelein and nickel crowns on top of them. She also put 5 root canals which made me sick with about 25 illnessess through my intire life! The second dentist ruined 10 of my teeth that even the dental society could not denigh!

The third dentist replaced all the mercury and other toxic heavy metals with toxic white composites, causing excuisatingly painful Lingual and Inferior Aveolar nerve damage. He also pulled out the 5 root canaled teeth, but quess what! He put another one in without my consent. How do I know this? Well 2 months after he worked on me I had an abcess in that tooth. The x ray showed that there was a so called holistic style root canal in it. (How can any dentist call any root canal holistic I'll never know!!!) The abcess was so bad my face swelled like a balloon. Now why would a dentist do that? Could it possibly be that since I now have half my teeth missing there wasn't enough teeth to latch on a bridge that costed $4000. more? I think so!

Even lthough I have done the raw juice fasting and lemon and coffee enemas to detox and has gotton rid of the candidas temporaraly, as soon as I try to eat anything again the allergies come back along with the candidas! Its come to the point where I'm afraid to eat anything at all and I'm starving myself to death!!! Not only this, but everything I eat hurts my teeth for one reason or another. Even brown rice and other grains are too hard and I have to puree it until it is mush! Theres hardly any teeth in my mouth and what ever is there, they are so weak that it hurts to eat anything at all! Unfortunately I can't even eat anything that is hard even though it is healthy, like salads and all fruit. Even an apple is too acidicly tart for my useless teeth!

Since this third dentist did so many things wrong, I can't help but wonder if he charged me for alot of cavitations that he may have not done. The arthritis in my back has gotton worse.If I wasn't doing the raw juice fast and enemas as often as Iv'e been doing then the candidas would have killed me by now.! I can really sympathize with Bex, Tracy, Dawn, Alex1, SandiFlood, and everyone else I forgot to mention who is suffering terribly, because I'm going through the same thing too! It feels like I have autoimmune desease and my own immune system is attacking itself along with pain!

I feel like a walking corps and look like one too!!! Just 2 years ago I looked attractive and age 30. Since I got all thoughs teeth out, Iv'e aged about 28 years around the mouth area especially!!! No I'm not exaggerating in the least either!!! My face has become so skinny that it is boney and gaunt. It has sagged so much that I now have very deep wrinkles all around the mouth. The worst thing that has happened is that the bone structure of my face changed to where my cheek bones protrude causing my face to be even more hollow under my cheek bones. My lips have dissappeared and are all wrinkled!!! It wouldn't be as bad if my career wasn't in the intertainment bussiness, but it is. I Know after being 30 years in this bussiness, I will not be able to do alot of the things I use to do because of the way I look now. As you know, society places so much more importance on beauty. Even if you have the best personality in the world, you won't get hired for the intertainment bussiness if your unattractive in alot of cases.

Unfortunately I have to accept that I now see a skanky, toothless, old hag staring back at me everytime I look in the mirror who looks way older than the 47 year old that I am! Believe it or not my father and mother look alot younger than me now. Everytime I go in public I get that same horrified perplexed look from almost everyone! I try to pretend like I don't notice them starring at the corner of my eye. Instead I smile and be cheerful when asking for information. Alot of amature sales people will look at me as if to say,"Have you looked in the mirror lately? Why don't you act your age, You skanky old drug addict!!!" The expressions, rude comments, and stares that I receive on a dayly basis is completely the opposite of how I was treated before I got all this nerve damage, bone loss ,and tooth loss, and liver damage.

Very few people are compassionate but are so cruel instead. Thats why I thank all of you on this forum and Russ for being so supportive, knowledgable, and compassionate!!! You are such a blessing to my life. It is so wonderful to know that there is always someone who cares on this forum.

I'm also very grateful for my fiance.One thing that is incredible is that he still loves me the way I am. Also since I have so many health problems along with cronic fatigue, he does everything for me to keep me alive, to say the least!!! Its too much to mention all the wonderful things he does, but he does alot of natural pathic remedies and therapies on me which keep me feeling healthy. I believe that he has saved my life over and over again although it is consuming all his free time!!! Although he never complains, it hurts me more than I can say to be such a burden on him!!! I feel absolutely usless since all my life I was the one helping others and now I can't even help myself without needing assistance in almost everything!!!

I can't even stand up or walk around for very long without getting tired. I sleep more than being awake. So many times I want to get on this forum and answer so many questions that I know the answers too and fall asleep instead. I can't stay awake unless I have some caffiene. I don't have it hardly anymore since it is unhealthy, but today I had some so I could have some energy to type this long depressing letter!

So sorry for all this depressing venting! I can't help how deeply depressed I am since I'm only existing and desperately trying to stay alive, and yet for what? Just so I can be a burden to someone else and basically useless to society? I"m too ill and weak to work and haven't for almost 2 years since I had the 3rd statges of mercury and heavy metal toxicity!

Once again sorry for all the depressing venting!!! I think I should have wrote some of this in the suicide section of this forum now that I'd rather die than live if I have to continue living this way. I believe if my physical condition doesn't kill me first, than my depression will!!

I read alot of the posts here and want to suggest that if you are afraid of loosing your teeth, partials is not the only option. You can get a bridge to fill in the gap. The bad part is the dentist will have to grind down the 2 teeth on both sides to put the crowns on. Also you will get some bone loss on the area where the tooth was pulled. Its also very hard to get safe dental materials. Although some people have suggested zirconion and implants, Iv'e heard several times that these aren't safe!!! Zirconion has some toxic ingredients in them which I can't remember what they were. Also even if you get a safe material such as titanium for implants, any kind of metal isn't safe when they are implanted inside your gums. The only thing Iv'e found so far that is safer than most white composites is Diamoncrown, diamondlite, diamondbond, and diamondlink. There are still some dentists that use these. Russes dentist uses this. Also Holistic gold from Zahn Labs might be an option too. So far I can't find any other material that is safe enough for me since I'm so sensitive now that I'm allergic to most foods.

Scarlet, I'm so sorry to hear about everything you are going through. HOw wonderful though to have such a supportive boyfriend! Mabye you could find a really good Biological Dentist that could advise you on what to do. Once you get your mouth in a healthier state, you can get partials or dentures that look very nice. Do you currently have a Biological dentist that you trust? That is really scary that a dentist did something to you without your consent!! Maybe you could consult with a lawyer to see if you have a case? It also sounds like you have been educating yourself on a path to health, so keep it up and don't give up! Keep us posted on how you are doing!

I have one root canal on my back lower side that I may have to get removed some day (maybe soon <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />). I have an appointment with my Biological dentist tomorrow. I was not aware that you could have bone loss from one less tooth in the back. Right now I am keeping the root canal and getting 2 ozone treatments a year. About $250 a year to keep this root canal as healthy as possible. I thought this was working for me and the crown cracked, so I have to really think about whether it is worth it to pay for a new crown, or if I should just pull it. (the crown is not even 2 years old) I really didn't even need the root canal, and I can not express enough how much I regret getting it, but it is done now. I got it before I was educated on mercury and candida. I was just a piece of equipment on the assembly line for the Dentist that did the root canal. That is all he does all day long. Puts root canals in peoples mouths. It is scary to think that that many are being done. That is at least 15 root canals a week! Scary!!

It is true that you get bone loss from extractions but you also get it from necrotizing bone from a toxic root canal. I am glad that the ozone treatments are working for you Chigirl...in my mind the dentist that put the root canal in should be paying for them.

Gee Scarlet....I hope and pray that you will find a clinic that can help you. Someday Soon went to an integrated clinic near in Maryland somewhere....is that close to you? I can get you the name if you are interested...they gave her such complete car...she was almost bedridden before she went there and since she got her abcessed root canal out..her Epstein Barr virus is gone!!!

I have recently started using a probiotic called Healthy Trinity by Natren and it has made a huge difference in my digestion. But I have also added unpasteurized sauerkraut to my diet...it adds good bacteria to the gut also, and is much cheaper too!!!

Scarlett, that is deplorable. You have been butchered by these dentists and that is very sad that you have had your attractive features severely marred by this. Though i realise we all have to go through life and gain "scars" and be put through suffering, to have that occur to you when you're not old is something very tough to deal with (to say the least), alongside the inner suffering.

you fiance is standing by you as any true person should and would and those that look at you in the way they do, are the typical shallow-minded types of people who assume whatever they decide about you because of how you look.

Is it at all possible for you to get a clean out and get dentures to replace the missing teeth? I know this is a very harsh and dramatic thing, but if you've had so much done to your mouth, how far can this go? Or can you get implants? Yes they all contain toxic stuff and there is no such thing as a metal free restorative material. Even teh plastics have metals, I have done cheek and gum tests with both plastic and porcelain and they are just as bad as eachother. I end up with metallic taste in my mouth by either of them. You will never find a metal free restorative material. The only thing you can do is avoid direct metal.

I have heard Zirconium is supposed to be one of the most biocompatible materials to use, so I'm a little taken aback and concerned by your statement regarding this. The biologic dentist in my country uses this and he's about as fussy as you can get. He also uses Diamond for composites. And people also react to diamond, so nothing is a perfect bet.

What they have done to human beings is just beyond belief. Many of us are in a similar boat, though experiencing our own personal suffering. It is just horrible.

I don't know what to suggest anymore to most people, and you have always been such a kind and giving person to everybody here, myself included.

I hope that you will stay with us Scarlett and even if you look in the mirror and you see what you perceive as a toothless "old hag" you are anything but. Anybody would look like that if they had done to them what you had and you're a very brave person and much needed.

I can make one small possibly pointless suggestion. I know you follow a candida diet? Not sure which one you follow exactly,but the one I follow specifically outlines a very strict diet, plus recommended highly necessary fats. I have heard some people's bone density increasing from all this and I am wondering if the fats and/or protein is responsible for it. The diet consists of eating eggs, meat, vegetables (no potatoes) and using fats like lard, extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, butter etc.

You may already be doing this, but if you're not, it's somethign to look at, alongside hopefully finding a way to fill your mouth/jaw out again, but being like some of us, you are highly toxic and sensitive and this just puts a total block in our way of movign foward with dental work.

Your fiance has got a very special person and he obviously is fully aware of it and may he continue on as he is, sticking by your side.

You and Bex are the glue that hold this forum together....I pray for each of you every night that you both find answers to your health concerns. I wanted all my teeth pulled out but my dentist wouldn't do it...I mean really are teeth worth saving if they are killing us. So now I am in debt up to my eyeballs and am not finished yet. I will still have half my teeth, but at what cost. I often wonder if the holistic dentists aren't capitalizing on our helplessness as much as the traditional ones did originally?

Yes, with what you said about these holistic dentists cashing in on vulnerable patients looking for answers, I would say YES to that, but perhaps not in all cases. I am sure there are the few true blue ones, but sadly it seems many of them are indeed not much better than the traditional as you said. They too are buggering people up and charging a hefty cost for it. Almost as though they realise they've found a niche in this biologic area and tend to ruin it for the true/honest fellow-biologic dentists.

The third dentist that did the unauthorized root canal was a so called holistic dentist. unfortunaely I never found a dentist that wasen't a quack yet. After what Iv'e been through, I don't think there is no such thing as a good dentist!

Don't worry about getting only one tooth pulled. You won't get enough bone loss that will be noticable. Also it is much healthier to get the root canaled tooth out.

Also I can't get an attorney that will accept such a complicated case because, it will cost more to hire him along with the dental expert that is required than what I'll get out of the settlement even if I do win! Thats right and I believe that the dentists knows this too. The dentists can be as negligent as they want and don't have to be accountable. I wrote in one of my posts 15 reasons why I know that the ADA along with many other organizations that support them are corrupted!!! When I find it, I'll tell you where to find it on this forum!!! I found out through the school of hard knocks that the law is there to protect the dentists, not you no matter how badly they ruined your teeth and your life!!!

Make sure that when you get your root canaled teeth pulled out, not to get I.V. sadation at the same time as having a local anestetic while getting the 3rd lower molar pulled. It usually will cause Lingual and Inferior Aveolar nerve damage!!! I got this and the pain and numbness was so bad!!! Many other people have committed suicide over this because they were desperate to stop the excusiating pain!!! Thank the Lord that the acupuncture I got got rid of the numbness and most of the pain after 6 months of agony!!!

My dentist used marcaine and could have given me too much of this already strong local anestitic too. Iv'e also read that you can get nerve damage from Articaine which is the same thing as Septocaine. Zor.... something, which is also the same as Articaine. I forgot the name, but I remember it started with a Z and had 3 words to it. I have alot of notes that need to be organized again in order to find all this information. Sorry! Cinest- plain is a local anestetic that doesn't cause nerve damage and it doesn't have that (eperniphine caffiene, adrenaline type of affect on you either.) It also doesn't make your mouth numb for so many hours either. Also if the dentists pokes the nerve with the needle or wiggles it too much, or pulls a tooth that is too close to the nerve can all cause nerve damage!!! I have a post about this and when I find it, I'll let you know where it is on the forum.

What is the name of the store you bought the Natren probiotics? Whats the name of the store you bought unpasterized sauerkraut? Your right that I probably should get partials or dentures since they have alot of toxins in them too. At least if theydo make me sick, I can take them out of my mouth without relighing on a dentist to do it. But unfortunately I will age even more, not be able to taste my food much, or sing with my high saprano, opera voice anymore!!! Thats the worst part of all!!!

You said that even teh plastic have metal in it. Thats scarey!! Does that mean that all white composites have that in them too? Which dental materials has this is them? Sorry for all the questions!

I can only remember slightly, but I think Zirconium has crystaline silicon in it that causes lung cancer like alot of white composites have. I'm not sure if this was the bad ingredient in it but, it was something. I need to research it more.

Thanks for the food suggestions. Although I eat some of these things, I'm very limited to what I can eat. I'm either allergic, or my body can't break it down, or my teeth hurt when I eat certain foods. When I do eat it will be olive oil, flax oil, avocados, garlic, onions, raw vegable juices, and chicken some times with enzymes. I can't eat foods that are acidic, but alkoline instead. Also I eat foods that are good for type A only. I also eat foods that are good for candidas: This includes none of sugar, calcium, white or wheat flour, and fruit. Now I'm going to stop the grains too since they have gluten and I believe that this is causeing alot of the candidas as well! Thank you for suggesting not to eat grains on the other thread since its not good for people who have mercury toxicity. It makes alot of sense! Dairy causes the most allergic reactions of all so I stay away from that too! I don't eat lard since it is high is saturated animal fat and isn't healthy.
