I must apologise for my above possibly inappropriate, but truthfully spontaneous post.
I’m afraid today has been very distressing for a variety of reasons. While I had anticipated the ‘response’ we are all too familiar with from conventional healthcare professionals, I am rather shocked at just how badly I reacted.
The consultant Neurologist I saw this morning was probably as helpful as his role allows in that he quietly listened to my symptoms, (and then my theories as to their etiology), without making any direct comments / objections about the Mercury Issue. The first hint of that came when he asked me which medications I was presently taking, to which I began to explain about DMSA and the myriad of vitamin / mineral supplements. He stopped me by saying “I meant ‘prescribed’ medication”. Now that sounds to me like a) he’s not willing to admit that he has never heard of DMSA and/or b) nothing else counts, in his mind. When I reached for my ‘arsenal’ of printed documents (including Andy’s Amalgam Illness book) it was a case of “let’s just leave your papers there, and test your reflexes now.” (Which, of course, were all Normal.)
He has diagnosed ‘psychiatric’ issues. Now theres a surprise!
And upon leaving, my dad succumbed to the irresistible Told You So urge, all the way home. Suffice to say, I reached breaking point rapidly. I got out of and hit his car… and shouted some horrible things, which I regret. This anger / frustration has been building for so long, and comes a lot easier since I have been chelating. To be honest, I believe this is progress, of sorts. Suppression of emotion really isn’t good for anyone. Some explanation of this reaction can be understood by the fact I just completed a 5-day chelation round (still just 12.5 mg), and so was feeling the after-effects of redistribution.
Anyway, thankfully my hand is not too badly damaged, though is a nasty purple colour. I managed to have a nap - albeit with seizures - when I came home, and so now can reflect more clearly on today’s…hmm… meltdown.
I admit, my uncontrolled behaviour today has only added weight to his irrefutable argument that I am destined to be a replica of his (mentally ill, completely isolated) brother, with whom he likes to constantly compare me. My own 5 years in isolation does however give credence to this.
The bitter irony is that both he and my father are probably also mercury-toxic. My efforts to show him the data, scientific and personal, have been futile. He Will Not See. I guess this is what has hurt the most.
Anyway, stay strong people because, if I can do it… anyone can!

I know how frustrating it is when you know something and everyone else around does not believe or does not want to know.
It's great that you recovered your composure and are determined to keep pushing on. That is my personal motto when things get tough, and boy have they at times: "keep pushing". (It's an old REO song, by the way).
It's also great that you've got an arsenal of information. Keep showing that to people and you will break through walls. Their pride will not allow them to show it, but you are making headway.
Keep pushing and keep us posted.
