I tried getting algin at my local healthfood store and they had never heard of it.Where do I get it and why can't some people tolerate it?Can it hurt you somehow?

I can't tolerate algin. I have tried it twice now and it gives me bloating and stomach ache. I think it is because it is insoluble fibre (? - Russ will correct me if I'm wrong), which my stomach just does not tolerate. I may try the activated charcoal someone else has suggested.
