Be extremely careful which dentist you choose. I went to EL-Essay in Harley St. had 11 amalgams removed at same time. He couldnt get me to go to sleep. I was happy to stay awake but he decided to use 15 bottles of iv on me which made me very ill. He let me get up and go to the toilet, no mask. He gave me his de-tox and told me id be better in ayear . He also insisted that i visited his FRIEND across the road for iv compatability then still couldnt decide on one. Well the next few days I literally thought i would die, when I E-mailed him he said I had a cold. One of my teeth now feels like it has a hole in it. He also wanted me to go for colonic irrigation with another FRIEND of his in Harley St. When I contacted him recently to say how bad I was feeling he replied with you must see my FRIEND in Harley St. again and you need to see a psychiatrist, but get him to ring me. I cannot post what I think of this guy I trusted with £2500, but I iknow Im not the only one who uses him and others may wish to add. Dr EL-essay also says he almost died of Mercury poisoing when he was in his thirties, I asked him what his symptoms were and he told me he just had diorrhea. Wish that was my problem i'd take some immodium! mmm that was the denist i was referring too.on the post about temporary fillings. ilike the idea of having the filling replaced with temporary fillings before having permanent ones.he said you wont make a complete recovery.if you dont do this.does that mean all other good dentist do this.
im a little concerned about the test he uses.and what is materials he uses. has ive read from another post that he dosent use diamondlite.. who is the best in london? need to find one soon. ive been searching for the last 6 months, and healths getting worse and worse.

BY THE WAY I HAD TO WAIT 4 WEEKS FOR THAT MACHINE TO COME BACK FROM AMERICA BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN. WHEN I HAD MY APPOINTMENT THEY SAID IT MAY NOT WORK BECAUSE THEY HAD FORGOTTEN TO PLUG IT IN AND CHARGE IT!

hi i saw dr el essawy coz as far as i new he was one of the best i had 8 amalgams replaced with tempory fillings it only been about 2 months since i had them removed i dont feel know better my mercury went up after and i was told by my herbalist who works with el essawy to stop taking the detox coz was making me worse .
i honestly think dr el essawy is a good dentist but there are lots of good dentists out there i dont think his protocol is any better than any other dentist choose your dentist wisely coz alot of them are just out for the money .
good luck anon
p.s just want to say everyone is different some people tolerate mercury better than others just cause me and tracy are having a bad time now doesnt mean you will hope it all works out for you.

I agree about doctor Heasham, hes out for your money, i rang him and didnt like his attitude. Stuart i found a good dentist in London, He uses diamondlite, and very reasonable, hes Dr Davd Harvie Austin. he is trained under Hal huggins. His phone number is 02076372732.

I had my fillings replaced by a biological dentist, and he used long-term temporary fillings which he told me would need replacing after about a year. The material he used was the most neutral - he said any of the long-term replacement materials could have caused more reactions in a body already overburdened by toxins and a weakened immune system. It COULD be a money scam, but I wasn't prepared to take any chances.

Dear all,
I have to disagree about hesham el-essawy. I previously went to harvie Austin and he made me many times worse to the extent that I thought I would have to give up work. El-essawy was a last resort and tested that there was still a lot of mercury in my mouth even though there was no amalgam.
It has been 6 months since removal. I completed a half marathon 2 weeks ago and am playing football 3 times a week again. I feel almost back to normal.
I would question whether you are excreting enough mercury either through the toilet or by sweating. I also felt worse when using detox supplements, i think this maybe mobilised mercury and stirred up too much at once for my body to handle. The only other thing I could suggest is that mercury is not your problem, it could be cavitations or even something unconnected. I speak only from my own experiences but I do not think El-Essawy is after your money and I certainly wouldn't trust Harvie-Austin to come near my mouth ever again.

Dawn firstly why is diamondlite the best, from many discussions on this forum nobody can actually ascertain whether it is any better than a normal composite. Just because Harvie-Austin uses this filling material doesn't mean he is any good. Harvie -austin checked my teeth and said there was no amalgam and mercury wasn't my problem. how then, did i have very high levels of mercury when tested with a vapour analyser and improved immediately after this was removed by another dentist? Harvie-Austin also unnecessarily removed an upper molar thinking it was causing me problems. This was painful and he didn't stitch it properly. I had an x-ray with a further dentist which shows some of the tooth root had been left in my mouth!! this could have in time become infected and caused a multitude of problems for me. How can he be good at cavitations if he doesn't even have the proper diagnostic tools like a CAVITAT scan?? john ahearne appears to be good in the Uk and dr shankland in the US ( www.drshankland.com). Again this is just my personal experience but I do not think that Harvie Austin is good. If he is president for the British society of mercury free dentistry ask yourself what has he ever done for awareness of the issue. Yes, he was trained under hal huggins but so what? that in itself doesn't make him a good dentist. I hope this helps, all just my personal views and i hope your experiences are more positive than mine. I wanted to be candid and tell you exactly what happened so that you can make an informed decision best regards Ray

Hi ray, i got him to clean out some sites where a so called holistic dentist just pulled my teeth without taking out the ligament. for this he didnt need a cavitate scan, it was plain to see on a panoramic xray. He didnt tell me i needed treatment, i asked him to clean out the sites, he only did what my other dentist should have done. he was very thorough and i have healed quickly. Im choosing diamondlite because i have heard good stories from other people, anyway when i rang Heasham he was against diamondlite for some reason, i wonder why he doesnt use it. I asked if he could get it for me but he wanted me to be tested first, thats money and i have already spent thousands on this, i have 2 white fillings and i wanted them replaced with diamondlite and he didnt want to know, also he wanted a consultation fee, but i didnt want to pay for it because i already had treatment from another dentist and i know what i want done.

Hi Ray, You may have already seen this information, but here are a couple of links to the Diamond-series products. I believe this dentist is the one that Russ and Laura used (Russ please correct me if I am wrong): http://www.saveyourteeth.com/You can then go to the link of 'My Philosophy & Our Dentistry', where Dr. Behm gives a listing of the materials that have worked best in his practice over the years. He seems to think that Diamond is one of the top ones for biocompatibility--here is the link: http://www.biodent.be/diamondcrown.htmlI would agree with your question about how we can really know what replacement materials are the best out there. I have been in a frantic search for this answer for about a month, and cannot come up with anything concrete yet. In my opinion we really can't know for sure, as we just don't have the measuring tools, the scientific education, and our own independent case studies using thousands of participants to provide reliable data to answer this question. I think that the best we can probably do at this point in time is to make an educated guess based on others' experiences on this forum, and based on the results of our own materials testing, whatever method(s) one chooses to use in the end. After researching this topic for up to 20-30 hours per week for the last few weeks, I personally tend to prefer the Diamond-series products for the following reasons: 1. I believe that Russ is a very talented researcher, and did his homework well both in choosing his dentist, and also in the restorative materials that he used 2. Russ and many others that have used this product series are getting better after having their amalgams removed. 3. Russ's dentist also likes this material, and feels that this has worked well for many of his patients during his years of experience. There are a few on this forum that have said that they feel that they did not react well to these materials, but unfortunately since one of the side-effects of mercury poisoning can be extreme chemical sensitivity, it can be an ongoing battle to find something that works for them personally. I personally am not able to find any dentists in my area to place Diamondcrown for my crowns, and this is why I am looking into the possiblity of CEREC for my crown placement. However, a biologic dentist that I am using offers Diamondlite for fillings, so I will be using this if my materials testing shows that I am biocompatible with this. I know this is a long answer to a short question of yours about Diamondlite--hope this helps and isn't too long-winded. Jason

Yes, I'm having the same problem with my dentist. He practices in a very expensive area, and we had to borrow thousands of dollars in addition to using our saving to have him remove my amalgams. I asked all the right questions about the removal and felt that he was the right one. Couldn't believe it when we were beginning the removal that he only had swinging doors, not even floor to ceiling doors. In the room right next to mine two children were having their teeth worked on. Here he and his assistant were wearing protective gear, I had on goggles, a charcoal filtered suction, and there was an air filter in my room. Yet, there was no protection for the other staff or the other patients. The rubber dam broke while they were working on my teeth. The temporary fillings fell out in a week and I swallowed them.
The other thing that I noticed is that he's very moody. I think he probably has been poisoned by the fillings he removes. While I appreciate the sacrifice that he makes in removing the fillings, I don't appreciate his moodiness. Very frustrating. If I hadn't paid him up front, I would be looking for another biological dentist to finish the work. It's so downheartening to give someone thousands of dollars and have them be so cavalier about the whole thing.

You will find that a lot of dentists are very hard to deal with. They can be moody, vague and come across as arrogant and rather uninterested or even cold. I do not know if it's tye type of people who go into dentistry, or they are genuinely being affected by the constant contact with mercury vapor. I have heard of dentists undergoing a complete personality change, this is not unheard of.
This is why one of the highest suicide rate of any profession is the dental profession. One of the highest alcoholic rates is among dentists, and one of the highest birth defects is among the dental staff.
I have found them the most difficult people to deal with and only come across the very few who are far nicer, and more responsive. The others either can't seem to get the questions I'm asking, or they shut off or either side step my questions or they seriously can't seem to answer a straight question.
They also seem to be focussed on money more than anything else. So it's very tough to find a genuinely caring dentist that actually DOES want to help you.
I know many are very busy, so this doesn't help either, but they seem to lose a bit of their humanity in this job. I guess it's the mercury affecting their mind.

I agree with you. My current dentist goes through terrible personality changes. I can't wait until he's done with the work that I've paid him for, so that I can look for another biological dentist who might be a bit more compassionate. I was late for the appointment by ten minutes because of traffic and when he gave me the numbing medication he was really rough.
Thank you for confirming what I was feeling. I, too, wonder if he might be mercury toxic himself.
Bex, I agree with what someone else said already. You are a great comfort to many of us following this forum.

It's actually a big relief to hear others find this with dentists, because I started to seriously doubt myself, I just thought ok, me and dentists just don't gel together. I seem to easily annoy them for some reason....I could tell you some very amusing stories with one dentist. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. And it ended up being so bad it was almost funny.
One was him sending me an email to state what the first consultation would consist of and the charges of the testing, supplements etc.. Well, i was so shocked at the cost of them all, I forwarded his email to a friend and I said "check this out, look at what this dentist is charging???? I am BLOWN AWAY!!! Am I looking at this from a pauper's perspective or what?".
Well, I sent that email and instead of going to the friend, it somehow went back to the dentist himself or it bounced or something (I have no idea what happened). I didn't know this had occured until I got up the next day and found an email from him saying "Dear Rebecca, thank you for sharing your comments with me. I think it would be best if we cancelled your appointment and you can have a good think about what you want to do. Bear in mind, you are not obligated to see me".
needless to say, I felt sick because I had booked a hotel and everything to stay in and was ready to make the trip.
Now if that wasn't bad enough? I did finally see him and it worked out "ok" (although when he shook my hand, he squeezed it VERY VERY hard and had a smile on his face the entire time he was literally crushing my hand). but it gets worse. This dentist does not do any dental work on patients who are not well enough. I realised that my lack of progress was getitng me nowhere and costing me money by the trips to see him, plus the fact everytime I enter a dental office, I get even more poisoned. So my ongoing visits to him, were ending up disasterous due to my problem with mercury vapor and he insists on seeing patients to check on progress when he has them on his health protocols. I was just ending up worse everytime I saw him. So I knew I would have to opt out. He didn't know I was contemplating seeing another dentist.
Well, I faxed another good dentist and told him my situation and asked if he did this kind of dental work and could he see me and do it in one or two appointments etc?
What did he do? He faxed me back and said "Dear Rebecca, I forwarded your fax on to Dr....(The previous dentist I had just been to), as I feel he would be more skilled in this area than I am. Here is his phone number and address".
Try and imagine how I felt? The same dentist who got the erroneous email, now gets my private fax forwarded to him asking another dnetist to "Please help me, I need this and that...etc".
I just stood there reading this fax from this dentist in shock thinking "oh great" .
so yeah, I'm sure he just thinks I'm a real winner.....
(oh and thanks for the compliment anonymous! I think people on this forum probably help save my sanity sometimes, so I'm helped a lot here too). Reality has been disastrous, I think I prefer being online.

Dear Stuart dont know if youve found a dentist yet but theres one in Wimpole Street, its called the ELLA clinic. I spoke to the dental nurse there at great lengths yesterday and she was excellent, as I may have a cavitation. The other thing is they have a neurologist starting work with them in December. She worked for the NHS for twenty years with people suffering from dementia ect from toxic poisoning. She looks at your symptoms and works out de--tox for you. This gives me a lot of faith as she has so much experience in this field. Unfotunately she is abroad until December, so I have booked an appointment for then. Hope this may be of some help to you. My dentist is Gareth Rhidian who is based in Farneham near London. He worked alongside Jack Levenson in the UK before he died. I have found him to be very thorough and professional and open to answering all questions i have put to him. He has done a good job on my restorations as far as i can tell.

I dont know. He used a glass ionomer called fugi 9 for my restorations and i think this is usually the filling material he recommends. You could try ringing and talking to Gareth directly he'd be able to tell you more.
