a dentist im thinking of going to.replaces the amalgram fillings with temporary fillings for about 8 months.before putting in permanent ones. because the mercury vapour can still be release from the tooth.even when the tooth has read 0 after removing the vapour fron the socket. any one know of any other dentist that does this?

Haven't heard of dentists actually doing this but there is likely some truth to what he's saying.

i haven't heard of that, but i did have my mouth tested for mercury vapors using russ and laura's machine, about 1 week after i got my amalgams removed. my reading was low (like a 15 or something), but it was still there post removal. so that makes sense. if mercury stores itself in bones, why not the very teeth the amalgams were rubbing up against all these years?

I may be getting one of these tomorrow.. to temporarily fix what looks/feels like a broken white filling. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Its been about 19 months since i had my amalgams replaced with the 'Herculite' white composite, but having these seizures every night must have put considerable pressure/wear on the back teeth. One time i actually heard this almighty 'crack' in my head at the time, but i hear all sorts of weird things so who knows.
Anyway, its starting to get painful, and feels loose.. not good signs. It is certainly a hassle having to travel 260 miles to get a last minute appointment with my holistic dentist... [the next available one is in February!].. but i wouldnt trust any dentist up here thats for sure.
Thing is, I am worried that these temp fillings are made with Eugenol... this is a suspected seizure-trigger [for me]. And it has to last 3 months... Guess ill be finding out tomorrow.
