adrenals adrenals adrenals. Sounds like you may need stronger adrenal support than you are taking. Are you taking glandulars? You may need something stronger like hydrocortisone. Have you had a cortisol test done to see what state your adrenals are in?

don't bother with a serum cortisol test - I can almost guarantee that this will be 'normal'. You practically have to be dead to be below range with this test.

Are you the one who had your fillings done by El-Essawy?

going on hydrocortisone is something that needs careful consideration, and above all, proper testing. There is always the issue of adrenal suppression with taking hydrocortisone. However, it is likely that your adrenals are already suppressed and not producing enough cortisol, which is why you feel like you do, so you would simply be replacing what your body can't produce because of the mercury. I know - I was there at the beginning of the year. When your adrenals don't produce enough cortisol they produce adrenalin, which can make you very jumpy, and make sleeping almost impossible. Hypoglycemia is probably just around the corner ....

I would urge you to get proper testing done, and read up on adrenal fatigue before you start taking HC. It can be ordered over the internet. In the meantime I would take some glandulars like these

http://nutriwest-uk.com/catalogue_content.php?active_page=0

I took the strongest (Adreno Lyph Plus) and they got me out of bed at Christmas time. I then took Isocort, which contains 2.5mg of cortisol per tablet. This can be ordered over the internet. Start on the weakest forms of adrenal support and work up according to your need. I personally am on the strongest - 6.5mg of Prednisolone. I would be bedridden without it.

I remember taking my first 5mg of hydrocortisone the day I visited my endocrinologist. I had been running on adrenalin all day, and was shaking like a leaf. 5mg of HC calmed me right down and I was able to sleep. When you take HC you are simply replacing what the body cannot produce itself, but you need to be informed about the choices and consequences of steroid treatment. It can suppress your adrenals if you take too much, but if you don't take it, and your body needs it, you will take MUCH longer to recover, and be much more debilitated. These are things that you need to weigh up before you start taking HC.

Have you had your thyroid checked? The adrenals also get exhausted from trying to support the metabolism when the thyroid is underperforming, and treating the thryoid is another important way of taking the strain off the adrenals, but thyroid / adrenals must be treated concurrently. No thyroid treatment without adrenal support! With weak adrenals like yours, taking thyroid hormone would probably crash them. HC / thyroid treatment is recommended by Andy Cutler.

Been there, own the T shirt. Hope this helps.

I'm in the same boat,i had asi screen done afew months back, and it shows my adrenals wer well on there way to crashing,i used to be an athlete, now i hardly have enough energy/stamina to do any stressing excercise.
I just went to see an endocrinologist, but if i should judge from past experience,i am sure i will get no help dealing with this.
Which leaves me to ask what next,as i think this is the main ailment i have which is preventing me from functioning normally on a consistent basis.

this is an article on adrenals by Dr Barry Durrant Peatfield, one of the UK's thyroid and adrenal experts. He does various clinics around the UK. Also have a browse around the thyroiduk website. It goes into a lot of detail about thyroid / adrenals and how to get treated in the UK.

Tracy, I completely agree with you when you say you are fed up with the whole thing. I too am like this.

I got my fillings out nearly six months ago, I had tingling in my head with one got broken, and decided because of this that I should get all my fillings out (apart from one I have under a crown) I stupidly rushed this and got them out without precautions, ie. just went to my normal dentist.I know this was the wrong way to go about it but I really wish I hadn't bothered.

I always had a problem with candida but other than that my health was reasonably good. Now I seem to get one thing after another, I have had breathing problems, tiredness, hypoglycemia, heart palpatations etc etc. This all went away after a few months but now its back again, I am away to get someting to support my adrenals cos I think thats where a lot of my problems are coming from. Well I hope so, its really trial and error. Not only that but I seem to have a cupboard full of supplements for this and vitamins for that, I too am really FED UP. There is a lot of things I can't take because I still have a filling, I was going to purchase humifulvate, which only removes mercury in the body and not from your fillings but I have not heard from anyone who has tried it. So I feel limited in what I can do just now.

I know at some point I need to get the filling removed from under the crown, but that is the last thing I feel like doing just now. I feel too yuk to contemplate that just now. I am hoping if I get adrenal support and watch my diet that things will calm down again and that I will feel more positive. Right now I'm Fed Up with you!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />lizbet

Kill two birds with one stone get a DDI hair elements test that Cutler has hair test book on how to read this particular test. It will show a adrenal stress pattern and be very clear to you if you do in fact have that problem. Thyroid can sometimes but not as often as adrenal problems be spoted by a similar pattern.

H! i am interested to know if you have been able to get off the cortisol? If so, how long were you on it and did you notice any side-effects? I am having severe adrenal problems with severe insomnia and my Dr. is suggesting putting me on low-dose cortisol. I don't know anyone who has tried the cortisol and I love to get feedback, thanks

I have been taking it for 7 months now, and don't anticipate coming off it any time soon. I am only 5 months post amalgam-removal and still feeling fatigued and a bit fluey, though better than I was. I haven't done any proper chelation - not very keen on DMSA, so am treating the candida with diet and antifungals, and adrenals/thyroid at the moment. I know it will take a long time to come off the cortisol, but frankly there is no point in trying at the moment as my adrenals are still working overtime with the candida and mercury, and I will just regress if I come off it now. If my adrenals are damaged, which my endo seems to think, I may have to take it for the rest of my life.

I'm not really thinking about that - just one day at a time. In the meantime, I can function with my three young children, and that's the most important thing for me. I'm sure I will look back on this one day and see what a nightmare it was.

Nicola
