After having an exam ,clifford testing, EAV my my biological dentist from IAOMT said he will not remove my three fillings until I have a neurological, cranial work up along with skull x-rays for my TMJ.
He said my range of opening my mouth is too limited. I think I can open wide enough but he said it may cause an acute exhaserbation of myTMJ and cause damage. The cost will be astronomical. Then once I get the work up done I will have to at the least wear splints 24/7 to heal the facial muscles before he will attempt removal. . Do you think this is extreme? Do you think money is his motivating factor?
He also wants me to get irrigation treatment for my gums because I have 3 different kind of pathogens under my gums.
Just want to know if you think I am being taken advantage of???
I know my TMJ is bad but can he deny me removal until I have this work done?????
Thank You so much.

Save your money and don't have the tests done. You already know that you have TMJ and that is all the test will determine. I do think that you should correct this and improve your ability to open your mouth wider for your own comfort and reduced pain afterward.
Start taking magnesium. There are several forms, but the good ones are glycinate, taurate, ionized, and citrate (this one can cause loose stools if you take as much as you will need-it brings water into the colon which is a plus if you are constipated). Reccommended for hg people is 600-800 mg or more in divided doses. Best time is at night (will help you sleep too) and in the morning.
I did this after my dentist told me that I would have to have a mouth guard ( Ididn't want one) and I no longer have TMJ. My friend started taking magnesium and her dentist actually asked her what she was taking so that he could reccommend it to his other patients with TMJ.
TMJ is caused by a magnesium deficiency. Mg is necessary for the muscles to relax. Mercury blocks you mg. That is why you are deficient. You will find that you will feel much better in many other ways too with taking mg.

Thank You Missy for your reply. I wanted to clarify that I have already been diagnosed with TMJ 20 years ago. I'm 35 now. Biological dentist also knows and wants all the work up and cranial/sacrel therapy done to improve my range and to be able to develop some appliance to wear to relax the muscles.
I already have been wearing an orthosis appliance at night and helps at night but as soon as it's off I'm tight in the jaw again. I also have a very small mouth.
I also have Fibromyalgia so I've been taking Mg Malate, Mg citrate for over two years now at doseage of 2000 mg a day with most of it taking just before I go to bed.
But as you stated I still could be deficient. My hair analysis shows I am off the chart high in Mg. So I am thinking my body is just not absorbing it. I even take the Natural Calm with Calcium and still do not get the benefits of Mg. Mg does not even help my constipation in high doseges.
My old dentist never had a problem getting fillings in my mouth. Sure I was in pain afterwards but they got them in. Why in the world can't a specialist in mercury removal get the blasted things out? Sorry but this just makes me ill. (Literally)!!!
Blessings

Go to another biologic dentist, this is ridiculous. Get a second opinion. The magnesium idea sounds good and I hope it helps you.
But as for the TMJ and getting all that stuff done? Um, there is NO way I would go through something like that which could financially cripple me, unless my conditino was so bad that my mouth could barely open. also mercury can exacerbate this problem.
I have TMJ myself. My jaw clicks and sometimes it will click and lock and I can barely open my mouth. A lot of that was caused by a dentist who was trying to fit a rubber dam on my mouth and instead of easing the bands between my teeth (as you would sith dental floss), she was pushed hard down and could get it to fit between my teeth, so she leaned over me with her full weight and continued to push down and down (instead of back and forth to ease it) and my jaw was stuffed from then on.
How can a jaw handle the weight of a human being when you're lying down and they are literally on top of you pushing with their full weight. On top of that? She let me swallow mercury during a removal, because she wasn't watching the assistant and the assisant was doing something else when she should have been using the suction. So this stupid dentist removed the rubber down adn let me swallow all the grains of mercury she had just removed that were still sitting in my mouth.
So from that visit, I ended up with a permanent worse jaw problem and acute poisoned from swallowed mercury and I had tremors on the way home from the visit from swallowed mercury. I was so ill I had headaches for days, I was crying and nauseated.
I hate some of them with a passion.
(sorry just felt like venting)

Bex, Man was that a horrible experience you had. As if it wasn't enough that we are so ill even some biological dentists do not have a clue or compassion. I have already forked out a bundle of money for this biological dentist, I'm just so tired of all the hoops we have to go through to get this poison out of our mouths. . As I have stated I have taken the malate, citrate as well as the ionic fizz kind of Mg that is highly absorbable but does not seem to affect me much. Malic Acid seemed to help my Fibro muscle pain the best. BTW Bex, You are an inspiration to me. I love reading your posts and I am so thankful you make time to help all of us here. And to know you are still very poisoned and still do this is amazing. I have 3 kids to care for and I can barely take care of myself some days. Blessings to you Bex

HI Laurie, thanks so much for such a compliment. And vice versa, how much help I receive on here from others keeps me going too! And you know when you feel you can pass on any info to someone else that might help them, it makes life much more worth living sometimes.
YEs, I get tired of the hoops of some of these biologic dentists. I had to stop going to my pervious one because he refused to do any dental work on me and he me jumping through all kinds of supplement hoops and detox hoops and wasting my money, my time and he refused to help me from a distance and insisted on seeing me face to face everytime, which meant 9 HOURS OF DRIVING.
Finally, after not getting better and getting worse from the mercury vapor already in the dental office (I am highly allergic to any exposure of mercury), I had to stop seeing him.
I asked him for copies of xrays etc and he didn't want to give them to me and obviously he knew I was going to go to someone else. I asked about four times and finally he sent it and was not happy.
So this time around, I have done my searching online, I have emailed a dentist, told im my situation and told him straight that I am not going to go through any hoops and have money wasted, either he gets me in and does the work, or i'll move on. I said to him that I want all possible consultation work, done from a distance and that I would provide him with as much info as I can before seeing him. If I see him face to face, he will be doing work on me, I won't be going in, having my time and money wasted, only to be told "well I think we should do this first or do that first bfore we do the work".
They can easily give advice across email or phone, when it comes down to preparing your body as much as possible before dental work (like going on a healthy candida diet, and using specific supplements to support you). And then asking how you feel across email etc.
The previous dentist had me drive 9 hours to see him just to hand out some supplements and also had me fork out for expensive tests and the reason I paid for one specific overseas test was so I coudl avoid a nine hour drive to see him for him doing the same thing. He agreed and I paid for this overseas test (which is just sending a urine sample).
once the test was done? he said "I need to see you" so he basically lied, had me do this expensive test when he knew he'd needed to see me anyway. So I could have gone to see him and saved money from doing that overseas test, if I had known I'd be seeing him anyway.
Again, I'm going on, but you can see how angry I am with this. I can understand it to some degree, because they want you in the best possible shape beforehand, but some of them go too far and start setting themselves up as health gurus who lord it over you.
by the way, the best thing that has helped me? Is diet. Diet on it's own is the basis of helping your body heal and reducing yeasts and toxins. The rest is just to help aid that process.
One lady actually claims on her website that her candida diet, the fats and proteins alone can chelate mercury and I think she is taking that too far, but oddly enough, I have heard people on there claim they have recovered, so there might be "something" to it to a point. I doubt it would cure a person with extensive serious mercury poisoning though.
But it "can' really help and also, to let you know? My jaw gets far worse if I start eating sugar etc and I've had it where it will lock up over night after consuming sugar or other foods I shouldn't eat, so I wonder if there is a connection with other toxins overloading the system and affecting the jawbone too. I have no explanation as to why that happens to me, but it does.
After I've eaten sweets, chocolate or whatever, I go to bed and by the next morning, my mouth will hardly open and I will have to go through the rest of that day trying to get my jawbone to click back into place and if I stick with the good diet, that pretty much goes away, though there is always a weakness there from that previous dentist doing what she did.
Anyway, once again I've bleated on. I really hope you get luck finding a good biologic dentist who has a good balance of genuine concern, but is not going to have you jumping through continual hoops at the sametime. There is much they can do to prepare things across phone and email.
Best wishes Laurie! How you take care of 3 kids, I don't know. And you think I'm an inspiration?

Bex, I have TMJ too along with a whole lot of other things - tinnitis, hypothyroidism, celiac sprue, double vision etc. I had some other things like kidney pain, stomach pain, lump in the throat, joint pain etc. that disappeared when I stopped sugar. But I have trouble staying off of sugar. I wonder how many of our problems are yeast-related -m and, of course, we all probably have yeast - and tons of it, due to mercury. I am going to try again and see if I can get rid of these other annoying symptoms. I know from what I have read that systemic yeast can be life- threatening.

Hi Dallas, believe me, it is worth it. It's not easy no, it's downright miserable when the yeast wants you to eat those foods that it needs to survive. So you will crave, but it's actually the yeast craving.
The battle is on when you start really craving and feeling like you're half starving.
Just go through it, let it happen and don't fight it. Imagine you are a drug addict and you have to go through this misery in order to heal.
Just eat the good foods that are allowed and concentrate on them and pretend that is all you have and the rest is not even an option for you to eat.
I have to do things like this to get through that craving phase.
I have just about gone nuts with it and paced the kitche, opened cupboard doors, opened the fridge over and over again. Because the craving can amost blurr your brain to where you can't actually think of anything else but foods you want. Could be anything from cookies, to pizza, to potatoe chips.
I have to just go through the paina dn walk away again. IT's not easy, but I imagine I am healing and the initial agony is part of that process.
Hope if you do decide to take the plunge, you'll be strong and go through it. Maybe some of your symptoms will go, as I knwo many of us suffer from yeast and the toxicity from it.

Yes Dallas I have been on the Candida diet for about 6 months now and some of the symptoms I had are totally gone. Here is a list of them.... Restless leg syndrome migranes cramping Sinus infections, congestion, mucus in my throat post nasal drip IBS itchy perineum And maybe a few others. Insomnia, muscle aches and arthritic pain is much better.
So go for it it's the best thing I ever did for myself.

Oh I also wanted to add.... Its the best thing to do especially if you have the mercury out! My mercury symptoms are much worse with the Candida diet so I do not take any extra antifungals and still mercury reaks havoc with me. I can't remember if all your mercury is out? If it is go for it but eliminating sugar and processed foods is always the best thing to do reguardless the situation. WIth me brain fog, depression, fatigue is bad with me. I can't wait to find someone who won't make me get all kinds of tests, and treatments before I can get the poison out.

This is a fantastic thread full of good info, Bex you really are a treasure. Your experience makes mine look like a walk in the park. I had my first cavitation done 3 weeks ago, root canalled tooth removed and I have to go back on Tuesday for surgery to reopen it and redo it...this time he is going to stitch it. I asked him why he didn't stitch it last time, he said he though my tissues didn't need it...how the hell does he know that, obviously his expert eyes were wrong!!!
I am fed up with all the testing too, it is enough to make me ill, the only testing that is truly important is compatibility testing for dental materials, the rest is up to the ND as far as I am concerned.
And Laurie, I agree.... if your mouth can handle them putting a filling in, surely to God you can handle getting them out!!! What is up with that? I would look for another dentist if at all possible. I had clicking and popping in my neck and it was gone after mercury removal, but it is back a bit now, since I had the tooth pulled. So you could get your jaw fixed and then have it go out of whack again if you have to have it open for extended periods...I just don't get their reasoning, except I see $$$$ in their eyes. And I have trouble trusting now, after what we have all been through.... but some of that may be attributed to insecurities from the mercury.
And diet is crucial, like Bex, if I eat sugar or chocolate, I get such sore gums and jaws and it is worse since amalgam removal....it is unbelievable how bad sugar is for us...we have to keep the yeast populations under control or they fill with the chelated mercury. Diet alone makes a huge difference. Lots of eggs, cilantro, raw garlic and onions, greens and good proteins will all help get the metals out and keep the yeast under control at the same time.
Best luck. Sandi xoxo

Laurie,
Your post said that you were taking 2000mg of magnesium. Did you mean 200mg? If so, you need a lot more than that to counteract the effects of the mercury. Stop taking the calcium for a while (if not forever). If you are deficient in mg, then your deficiency will just get worse if you are taking calcium because you must have magnesium to process calcium. If you don't have enough, it will pull mg from the bones to try and process it and then will deposit it in soft muscle tissue which causes you to become very stiff and achey. A friend of mine was so bad off, but didin't want to stop her calcium because her dr. told her she "had" to take it for her bones. When she finally got so bad that I convinced her to try it , she improved. Same with my mother. Her bone scans show no more bone loss (much to her dr.'s dismay-he has a new drug he wanted to put her on) even though she hasn't taken calcium in about 2 years. The whole calcium thing is way off the mark.

Missy, I was correct when I stated I take 2000mg of Mg. I have been doing this for two years now. It was recommened for my Fibro. And I only did the Cal/Mag Ionic fizz for a couple months. I would love your advice on why the Mg. is not doing its job. Like I stated earlier, my hair samples show Mg at a level of 455. Normal reference range is 44-98. It just does not get absorbed. I am always constipated Mg never helped. I guess I'm a "special" case but if you have any good leads I would love to hear them Thanks for your expert advice.

In answer to my original post do you think the dentist could give me a shot of muscle relaxer in my jaw and then do the work?
Maybe this could be a option?

Hi Laurie,
I just wanted to let you know that I also have bad TMJ problems, but i got my amalgams removed despite that. It definitely did hurt and stress out my jam, making my TMJ worse for a time, but it recovered. I mean, your mouth is open for many hours, and between putting in the damn, drilling, scraping, etc...there is a lot of tugging going on that stresses it out. My entire side of my head ached when I left, and I think it was all eminating from my TMJ. BUT, it still worked out fine. I just avoided anything super tough or chewy for a little while after that.
I feel like I really lucked out with my doctor and dentist, because they both seem to be minimalists when it comes to testing and treatment - they like to keep it simple and stick to the necessities. In fact, from doing so many readings, I was under the impression that I should have various tests done, but neither of them thought they were necessary. And that worried me at first, but I now think they were right - it can definitely get excessive. My dentist is now trying to convince me to buy a nightgaurd (I truly think for my best interest and not money), but insurance doesn't cover it and they are close to $500...so that's out the window! Unfortunately, the over the counter $12 ones that you mold yourself....they just make my jaw worse. But I will look into getting a good magnesium supplement after reading this thread.

Tia, Thanks for your post. I am on the phone again looking for a bio dentist who will look past the TMJ for now and just get the mercury out. I am happy it worked out for you. I think the bio dentist is afraid he will get sued or something if he messes up my jaw or something or more than likely he sees a lot of money being made off of my jaw problem. Tia, 500 bucks for a well made nightguard is probably a pretty good price. I paid close to 1000 for mine and does help tremendously with the clenching at night. It just gets screwed up during the day when I eat. I have been told if you get a mouthguard made make sure it is a lower mouth guard because it is made to be worn at night as well as during the day and you can eat with it in. I can't wear mine too much during the day, it sticks out and makes me look really mean and and I can't eat with it in. The mercury makes me mean already and I can't afford to look mean all the time with my kiddos. Nice talking with ya.

wow, that is a lot for you to still have problems. The things that I found that interfer with mg absorption are sodium (I have to have very low sodium diet), fluoride (do you take your mg with water that contains this? It will bind to the mg making it unusable), epinephrine (adrenaline) and kidney problems.
Sorry, thats about all I have other than mercury of course.

Missy, MY body is just really messed up. I do use a lot of sea salt for my foods but not excessive. And I drink Reverse Osmosis water and supposidly it takes out the floride according to to the manufacture, so yea I'm a pretty special case. I'm praying my body just starts to do what it's suppose to do once I can find someone who will take the mercury out without buying the Brooklin bridge first

I wonder if you are deficient in taurine also. I have read that taurine helps you (can't remember for sure) retain mg or get into cells or something along that line. I know that some on this forum have had really good results with mg taurate. Also, when I first realized that I had a serious mg def., I couldn't get enough so I started taking an ionized form. This is cellular ready and bypasses the digestive system. I ordered it off www.mag-i-cal.com . You might want to try a different form. Also, I use sea salt, but very sparingly, I also have to avoid lots of things that I use to eat that are too salty for me ( I can tell my mg gets low if I have too much sodium) such as green olives, bacon, chips etc. I basically look at the nutrtion thingy on the back of the product and if it contains more than 5% I know to avoid it or I will pay the price. www.mgwater.com is a very good site for mg information. I'll let you know if I come up with anything else

Are you using Celtic sea salt, it is supposed to be much better for you than regular sea salt....contains lots of minerals and who knows where some of them are harvested?

Thanks so much Missy. I do get some Taurine is various supplements I already take but probably not nearly enough. I will check out the sites you listed. Mercury and malabsorption really go hand in hand. I can't believe all the supplements I have taken that have literally gone down the toliet.
But I see the light at the end of the tunnel
Thanks again
