Hello,
Does anyone who follows Cutler's protocol know which type of ALA to use? Is it okay to just use the inexpensive type found in any health food store, or does he think people should use that expensive R-lipoic acid version? Please help! Thanks in advance.

My guess is that you would have to use half the dose with r-ala because it is %100 pure. Most commercial supplements are really a 50/50% mixture of the D and the L for of ALA.
I'm not sure.

Yes, it is fine to use the typical inexpensive ALA in healthfood stores. Not enough is known about the way the other ones works (R-lipoic acid). As far as I know, it's not recommended. But go on the frequent dose website - http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/There you'll find exacty what ALA people are using and what experiences they are having with it. They're all using Andy Cutler's protocol and will be able to provide you with all the information you'll want to know about this.
