I am beginning my journey into amalgam removal. I have finally found a holistic MD to order some tests for me.
I am getting a hair analysis (38 elements) done by Anamol Laboratories in Ontario Canada. Are they good?
Also a 24hr Nutrient & toxic Elements test from Metametrix. Any comments on the Lab would be greatly appreciated.
Finally I have an initial consult with an IAOMT biological dentistnext week with a Michael McGrath in Syracuse NY. If anyone has any info on him good and bad I would be so thankful.
Blessings

It seems to me that the ratio of sufferers that have a mercury problem is out of balance to our 1 to 11 population. I seem to be over the worst of my problems. I just turned 60 and had total amalgam removal completed in June 2004. How many of the active forum participants have a Canadian or adjoining US state background? or is it our Northern European heritage that is the bonding factor.
RUSS Maybe this is a good research point to look at!

Blessings Welcome Vegiemom.... I have read that a hair analysis is not an accurate representation of the real concentrations of heavy metals in our bodies because the metals only circulate in the blood stream for hours after ingestion before they settle into the tissues...anyone else???? Sandi xoxo

ALCAN, not sure what you are getting at, but I am Canadian and lived most of my life in Canada. However, I have lived the last 13 years in the U.S.

Sandi, In Hal Huggins book "It's all in your Head" he states that it is the disarragement of minerals in the hair sample that alerts a mercury toxcity. I do understand that high levels of mercury in hair is not indicative of toxcity but the opposite. High levels means you are excreting it. So low levels may mean body organs and tissues are holding on to it. I just want to tackle this from all angles. My friends and extended family will not believe me unless I got proof and I want to be sure this is what I have. I really have no doubt this is my problem, I just want to be sure I am choosing the best resources to detect the problem.
My goal is to do it right the first time, but this does not happen as much as I would like.
Thank You everyone for all that I have learned thus far.
Blessings,
Veggiemom

People that don't believe is such a hard part of this whole issue, I spend so much time explaining it to others and then I realize it is a waste of breath....they don't believe me anyway. But someday they will, they are already starting to look at me differently, but the cost of the whole procedure is what make people think I am nuts...but I believe it will all be worth it....actually it already is.
Best luck Laurie, Sandi xoxo

To help with the earlier questions about mercury proof... It is hard because when you're in stage 1 or 2 mercury toxicity, mercury in the hair and blood is low. It's only when you reach stage 3 that it will show up elevated in hair and blood tests. In fact, when you're in stage 1 or 2, mercury will be very low. You have to look for other signatures in stage 1 and 2 persons such as elevated hair calcium or elevated urine porphins. Here are some resources tha may help: It's All In Your Head by Dr. Hal Huggins Hair Test Analysis: Finding Hidden Toxicities (this is an excellent resource for helping people confirm mercury toxicity in stage 1 or 2 persons) I hope this helps.

Thanks Russ, My Hair analysis book by Andrew Cutler should be at my door in a couple of days and I send in my 24 hr urine test to Metametrix tomorrow. This should give me a couple weeks to study and be prepared for my next appointment with the MD.
Another question.... If calcium hair levels are elevated in persons in stage one and two would they also be elevated in the blood as well? My last two cbc's show High elevations of calcium and albumin in my blood?
Just curious?
Thanks
