One of the many things that causes frustration and disappointment for me in dealing with doctors is the obvious reality that "Medicine" is not practiced as, governed as, nor is it necessarily researched as, a scientific endeavor. Rather, "Medicine" operates similar to the way Academia operates. Rarely will we find a doctor who is willing (or even able) to look at a patient as a whole -- step outside the proverbial box and look at the big picture. The doctors seem to be limited to their checklists only. There is rarely any creative thought or analytical thinking. It's just a sloppy way to practice, in my opinion. Sloppy in thought and sloppy in deed.

And the condescending attitude -- well that is part and parcel to the world of Academia. If "Medicine" were practiced truly as a science, then we'd see the necessary creativity, analytical thinking and there would not be a closed society of short-sighted, non-analytical, doctor-robots.

Furthermore, I get the feeling that the souls who occupy themselves within the medical profession feel that unless one is an "M.D.-iety" one has no right, no priviledge, no ability to address any medical matter. As a whole, I see a group of self-satisfied automatons so swelled with their own sense of self importance that they are missing golden opportunities to truly heal. Too frequently they are simply on auto-pilot and conduct their practices and work without thought. If your not presenting with a symptom that's on the checklist -- then you're out of luck. And forget about new findings.

I suppose I should point out there there are precisely 3 physicians who have earned actual "pedestal" status with me. And believe me, I've had my fair shair of dealings with doctors over the 45 years I've been on this Earth. And I will be eternally grateful to them for their outstanding and uncharacteristic (for a doctor, that is) creativity and analytical thinking. I realize now that they were also extremely brave -- they were actually risking potential ridicule for being creative.

And I don't necessarily mean to bash Academia -- so, apologies to any of you who might be exployed in that area. It just strikes me as a rather closed society with severe limitations at times. The entire "peer" review thing has me baffled sometimes.

Russ, I can just see a doctor or medical professional's response to your efforts -- with predictability, they'll attack any paradigm that they haven't heard of. And they will be incensed that a non-medical individual would have the temerity to penetrate the echelons of their hallowed and esteemed profession [typed with much sarcasm here].

I say, keep up the good work, Russ!!!!

I'll get off the soapbox. I could discuss these topics ad nauseum.

Thanks for the passion. I love to see it.

I see more passion about truth coming from anyone on this forum than most doctors I've ever known, and I've known quite a few.

They are, unfortunately, one of the most closed-mined groups of professionals I've ever come across, and this is unfortunate, but it makes them good at doing what they're told (sell, sell, sell). As the pharmaceutical industry has virtually taken over the medical education process, we see more and more propensity towards mindlessness in medicine. It's shameful.

Nevertheless, I do respect the few doctors that are excellent, care about what they're doing and try their best. They are out there but can be hard to find, and when you find one, stick with him/her.

You're so right about the closed-minded attitude and not accepting things that don't fit their paradigm. They could be much smarter if they had humility. So, I respond to these posts mostly for the benefit of those watching. I hope some of them will catch on and do their own work and research because certainly, most of their doctors will not.

This is a copy of a response I made to Doctors on another forum who cannot see the forest.

As I posted this general question to this forum, I received exactly the response I expected: A link to one of the few sources of establishment information that states that mercury is wonderful.

After studying this subject for years, I have unveiled special interests; special interests in government, and special interests in certain medical industries that have a very strong tie to each other. It's called money.

The subject of studying these ties is not for the faint-hearted or cowardly. It demands that you use your brain and make logical deductions, and fortunately, more and more people are.

Usually, these are people for whom the medical "system" has failed, and this, in turn, has given them the motivation they needed. These are people, for example, who went from doctor to doctor for years, were diagnosed with one "disease" after another, and were prescribed an endless train of drugs, only to learn, after ** putting in a little time of their own **, that mercury was the cause. They have their amalgam fillings removed and suddenly get better. The frequency of this story is ramping.

So what did these courageous souls do? They put in the time, and had the courage to think "outside the box", that is, outside the tidy frame that the FDA, NIH, CDC, WHO, and the other establishment organizations—that are little more than revolving doors for the pharmaceutical industry—want them to remain within.

The messy part of this type of research is that it requires you to muddle through research and determine which is flawed and which is good. After putting my time in, I've discovered that most is good, but I've also noticed the crystal-clear pattern that the research promoted by "the establishment" is geared toward a single end, and of course, that is money.

The bottom line here is that we're living in a time when there is so much corruption in the highest places that there is offered to you, the lowly working class, a smorgasboard of belief systems that you get to choose from. Of course, only one is accurate (and that one isn't offered, you have to find it for yourself), but the providers of the buffet could not care less. As long a you choose one of the many flavors they offer you, you are their unwitting ally.

You, having likely been educated within the purview of their menu, have dutifully choosen your acquired taste.

Nevertheless, when it comes to chemistry, if you want to work in an effective way in eliminating diseases, you must remove the root cause. The pharmaceutical industry, having brilliantly concluded that a non-sick person is no longer a customer, invented chemicals that, for the most part, suppress symptoms while allowing the cause of disease to remain. A brilliant business plan. A horrible health plan.

Having made your choices, this post is not for you. It is for those who wish to recover from their ailments without having to wait for the next 10 to 20 years for mainstream medicine to "catch up", or rather, be placed under so much pressure by people pursuing the truth that they have to concede to keep themselves from loosing all appearance of integrity.

For those with this kind of passion, the links I placed in earlier posts are for you.

When you do your research, you will notice it has been well documented that after amalgams are placed, there are huge accumulations of mercury in the various—usually sulphur-rich—portions of the body, including the brain. You will also find that mercury dramatically interferes with so many chemical processes that it results in a myriad of various diseases, depending on various genetic and habitual factors, and you will discover that this accumulation takes time.

This * time * factor is the reason that the truth about mercury has been successfully concealed from the mainstream for so long. Nevertheless, it is now becoming well-known and people are realizing what fraud has been committed in witholding these long-known scientific truths from common sources of public health information; And this, not for the common good, but for the benefit of the pharmaceutical industry (money).

All this is the reason you have such * easy access * to bad scientific information and flawed studies. Of course, * easy * is not what makes really sick people well. It takes research, and I hope and I write this post for the sake of those growing numbers of people who realize that this passion to become well requires you to put in your time doing your own research and not taking anything at face value, as so many medical professionals do.

I've always noticed this all-important trend; It's the feisty ones that survive difficult situations and overcome incurable diseases. This attribute is the very one that causes people to do that very thing that leads to recovery, namely, * putting in the time *, and not accepting the wide variety of "diagnosis", at face value.

I don't believe in doing people's research for them because I have learned this pivotal attribute of human nature:

It does not matter if you put the truth in front of someone with all the necessary evidence to back it up. Some will accept it, others will reject it, and yet others will research it.

Herein lies the great line of division between us: Passion.

Those with it, find solutions, find cause; they find truth. Those without it follow, and with such a variety of self-interested parties providing misinformation for their own purposes, those that follow who are humble enough to admit they are wrong, eventually learn the great harm that comes from apathy.

All this is to say...

Believe what you want, but from my perspective, having put in my time researching these things, the position you have hastily chosen is as silly as saying "widespread corruption has never existed in governments throughout history".

Following are links and quotes for the feisty.

In his book Racketeering in Medicine, James P. Carter M.D. makes the following charges: "the NCAHF...receives funds from pharmaceutical manufacturers," and the NCAHF does not represent the consumer but rather "the interests of a select group of health-care providers - physicians in the private practice of medicine - and they represent the interest of pharmaceutical companies."

I highly recommend this book:
Racketeering in Medicine, James P. Carter M.D.

This is an outstanding book that continuously provides names, dates and places. It's compelling and hard to put down.
---

It's amazing that you quote from the NCAHF. Have you not learned that:

"The NCAHF is a front organization used by Barrett, Baratz and their other associates whose purpose is to solicit jobs so that they can act as expert witnesses against doctors who practice alternative and complementary treatment methods ... Quackwatch, and National Council against Health Fraud although independently incorporated, are one of the same, in that they have common directors, administrators, members, contributors and beliefs and collaborate together to the benefit of Barrett, Baratz and their other associates."

—Bolen
---

"Among his many allegations, are included that Barrett is paid in part by pharmaceutical companies and private industrial interest groups in the health care industry to discredit alternative health care for competitive reasons. Barrett was forced to concede his ties to the AMA, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) during cross-examination of a 2005 lawsuit. During the same trial, Barrett admitted that he was not a Medical Board Certified psychiatrist because he had failed the certification exam and that though he had claimed to be a “legal expert” in the past, Barrett had no formal legal training."

—Bolen
---

"Conclusion - Appellant (NCAHF) believes that no one should be allowed to market homeopathic remedies. Congress has decided otherwise, and officially recognizes the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia. Appellant's broad-brush approach of sweeping all homeopathic remedies into a single bag marked "undesirable" simply does not work in the courts, where each claimed instance of unfair advertising and unfair business practice must be closely scrutinized. Appellant failed to present any admissible evidence in this case that respondents are guilty of false advertising and unfair business practices with respect to any of their products."

Frist's ties to Eli Lilly & Co:

"Frist's bill would protect Eli Lilly and other vaccine makers from lawsuits, including the growing controversy of thimerosal. When writing the bill, Frist consulted with Eli Lilly, as well as other interested parties. In 2002, Eli Lilly and the company's employees contributed $226,250 to the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee that Frist has led. When Frist wrote a book on bioterrorism that was published following the September 11, 2001 attacks, Eli Lilly bought 5,000 copies of it and distributed the book to doctors around the U.S."

First Official Recognition of Thimerosal Dangers Made - May 2003

"After an extensive three-year investigation initiated by the Committee on Government Reform, a report was released concluding that, “there’s no question that mercury does not belong in vaccines.” For the first time, U.S. officials have undoubtedly recognized that thimerosal poses a very serious risk to those subjected to its’ neurotoxicity."

The CDC (Special Interest?)

“To date, studies conducted or funded by the CD that purportedly dispute any correlation between autism and vaccines injury have been of poor design, under-powered, and fatally flawed. The CDC’s rush to support and promote such research is reflective of a philosophical conflict in looking fairly at emerging theories and clinical data related to adverse reactions from vaccinations.”

—From
http://www.thimerosal-litigation.com/html/report_5_03.html

Your Information About Thimerosal Removal is Dead Wrong

"The link between thimerosal and autism and other learning disabilities has continued to be argued for decades. Thimerosal is 49.6% ethylmercury and was widely used since the 1940s in over the counter drugs. After being banned in 1998 from over the counter drugs, thimerosal is still found in some vaccines. Mercury is the second most toxic substance known to man behind uranium."

"While many doctors continue to claim thimerosal has been removed from vaccines given to children, a closer look would show otherwise. If following today’s government recommendations, a child has received more than 30 vaccinations, a dramatic increase from just over a decade ago. Vaccine makers were never ordered to remove thimerosal, rather encouraged."

For Quackbuster's NCAHF - It's All Over But The Shouting...

"In the context of a lawsuit against homeopathic manufacturers of homeopathic remedies, 'there is nothing in the nature of a false advertising action that makes it difficult for a plaintiff to prove allegations of the complaint. The homeopathic remedies are marketed and readily available for testing by the plaintiff. The falsity of the advertising claims may be established by testing, scientific literature, or anecdotal evidence.' (NCAHF v King Bio). Appellant provided no admissible, prima facie evidence that the respondents' advertising is, in fact, false....In addition, appellant presented no evidence at all that respondents' advertising is likely to deceive consumers."

Deadly Immunity

"When a study revealed that mercury in childhood vaccines may have caused autism in thousands of kids, the government rushed to conceal the data -- and to prevent parents from suing drug companies for their role in the epidemic."

by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

—From
http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0616-31.htm
---

"This study provides strong epidemiological evidence for a link between increasing mercury from thimerosal containing childhood vaccines and neurodevelopment disorders and heart disease. In light of voluminous literature supporting the biologic mechanisms for
mercury-induced adverse reactions, the presence of amounts of mercury in thimerosal-containing childhood vaccines exceeding Federal Safety Guidelines for the oral ingestion of mercury, and previous epidemiological studies showing adverse reactions from such vaccines, a causal relationship between thimerosalcontaining childhood vaccines and neurodevelopment disorders and heart disease appears to be confirmed."

—From
http://www.aapsonline.org/jpands/vol8no1/geier.pdf
---

This statement you quote from the CDC website is technically legal, but essentially a lie. They simply "don't know about" specific reports of harmful effects because * they decided * not to associate the numerous reports of vaccine harm with thimerosal. It's called politics, by the way.

"At a glance: Thimerosal is a mercury-containing preservative used in some vaccines and other products since the 1930's. No harmful effects have been reported from thimerosal at doses used in vaccines, except for minor reactions like redness and swelling at the injection site."

—CDC

For example...

"That's what happened with several people working for the FDA...If they passed Aspartame, literally, they were promised great jobs when they finished with FDA."

Arthur Evangelista,
Former FDA Investigator

It's the revolving door I was speaking about.

Very well said -- and spot on! I'm literally punching the air with glee. lol! I haven't read all the links you provided yet (I'll have to do that later). My husband and I have spent countless hours discussing these very issues. Golly, it's nice to know we're not alone in the conclusions we've drawn.

Wow I can't believe that you feel so strongly on these issues, I thought and so do many others that my thinking was way over the top, but now I see I am not wrong at all....and it is nice to know that so many intelligent people see things the same way...and we are not all nuts!!!

Thanks so much for posting all those sites, I will get to them someday soon...I hope you will always be here. I can't do any more reading until I get the mercury out of my brain, I am just too overwhelmed. I think taking antifungals for 3 years has released alot of metals into my system and much of it has gone to my brain, and I become confused and overwhelmed very easily. I have to back off a bit and focus on living and exercising and trying to be normal, but it is so hard to be happy and feel safe when I realize how much damage has been done to so many, and continues to be done.

And yes SS, it really is nice to know we are not alone in our thoughts on these issues; with confidence lacking, I still need validation. Best luck with your dental visit today, I hope all goes well for you....this is the first day of your new life without mercury...yeaaahhhh!!!!

Thanks so much Russ and Laura for all you do, I am so happy that Someday Soon brought me to this site...you guys are going to save so many lives...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

Hey thanks everyone for your support and kind words.

The bottom line here is that we're right. The evidence shows it and just because the special interests (the pharmaceutical complex) doesn't like it doesn't mean we back off. The truth is [color:"red"]powerful and one day, we'll see some serious convictions because of it.

[color:"red"]The Truth is what criminals are afraid of because they don't like confined spaces.

Here's another reply I just made on that forum...

"Come on now, how can you say that "T" has "hastily" chosen her position, just because she disagrees with you?"
---

Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, you must have missed where I said:

"...from my perspective, having put in my time researching these things, the position you have hastily chosen is as silly as saying "widespread corruption has never existed in governments throughout history"."

This has nothing to do with whether or not someone disagrees with me (you missed the entire point), but rather whether or not what they are saying is true. You see, it's easy to spot people who have not researched these subjects because they say silly things. If you had done the work I have, you'd understand exactly what I'm saying.

It's also important to know that if I didn't know anything about this subject, I would simply say so. There is no pride or ego here. Those things are a waste of time.

Having people disagree with me is a good thing because that is—in part—what challenged me to work to learn what I have learned. Remember, I was originally on "your" side of the fence, until I was challenged. I simply decided to do what many people don't and do the research for myself.

When I did, I saw before my very eyes the lies and misinformation that are routinely spread by the same group of people. If you did your homework, you would find the same thing. Of couse, you will only do this work if you are passionate about this subject. If you are not, then, as I alluded, this post is not for you.

If you are, you're about to learn some valuable things, but again, I won't spoon feed you because, if you're passionate, I don't need to. If you're not passionate, it won't make any difference what references I post or how much information I give you. You will uniformly reject them based on your emotional "comfort zone", so why would I waste my time?

I'm actually getting very real results doing things that the "establishment" says is impossible. Of course, those who are not naive understand "establishment" interests; Whereby they gain massive amounts of money by spreading flawed information.

As for me, I'm actually making a fraction of the money that I very-easily could in the computer programming or embedded systems industries, however, I make this sacrifice because I care about people and am getting results in helping them change their lives; I am passionate and I care about people.

Your quotes all read very Uninformatively. They provide no data and no sources for further investigation, but vaguely cite that there are - somewhere out there - volumes of data to support their claims. That's nice, but worthless. At best,
---

Did you miss the bottom two-thirds of the message? There is a wealth of information but, of course, you need to do a little work of your own to get to it.

Furthermore, I clearly explained why I don't provide spoon-fed information. (but let me say it again a different way)...

** Because it would not matter. **
(in fact a large portion of my post is dedicated to explaining this)

If you understand human nature, you know that people (especially people who don't care about a particular subject) will choose whatever position is most emotionally accommodating for them, and this is therefore known as the position of an "emotionally-based" person, not an intellect. This is a position that is self-centered (or self-serving) in this respect and not usually concerned with doing too much work in this context (i.e. not feisty).

An intellect will humble himself/herself (i.e. take their preconceived ideas out of the way) and conduct research. That is a core factor of real intelligence; Humility.

As a real life example, I had horrible health problems, a long list of them. As I was sharing them with a friend, she told me about how she had done what countless doctors could not: Cured her fibromyalgia by having her amalgam fillings removed.

After five years of torture and pain, she did a little research of her own (she is an intelligent woman, and feisty) and within a few days, concluded what none of the doctors did for the years she kept going to them. She soon had some dental work done and went from bedridden to owning her own website design company. Good for her!

The story for me is the same. In 24 hours after having my amalgams removed, I was rid of 17 physical symptoms and over the next couple years, had vast and life-changing emotional improvements and regained my short-term memory. Now, in helping others realize the scope of this mercury issue, I've seen many come back to health having nearly the same story as my friend.

The issue here is the scope of the problem.

Mercury from amalgams is not just some isolated health issue as the special interests would have you believe. It's a huge health issue. Based on the research I've done, I believe we (as a country) are about to discover how huge it really is. Of course, I supplied you with information showing that some of those among us—particularly those who profit from illnesses caused by mercury—have known this for years and have actively covered it up. Did you read it?

Again, to those who understand politics and human nature, this should not be any huge surprise.

Then you said...

---
"That's nice, but worthless"
---

Absolutely. You're right; Worthless to you, But not worthless to people who are willing to invest a little time into finding the truth behind the 180 degrees of separation; No, not worthless at all but very valuable, as it was to me and my friend, and not worthless to countless others I know have or are now recovering. You see, it's all a matter of values.

You Said...

---
"but just grasping at contradictory information because it Doesn't support the mainstream and tenuously connects itself to a few random, well accepted facts is no smarter and - in fact - is pretty damned dangerous."
---

What is truly dangerous is when a few special interests control or misrepresent medical information.

You must not have read my post entirely.

"Because it doesn't support the mainstream" is absolutely not the reason I take the position I do. That would be purely emotionally-based. I take it because the preponderance of evidence shows it is the correct postion.

Everyone I know who has done this research for themselves—and I know quite a few (you'd be surprised)—take the same position as me. It is only those who have not looked carefully at both sides of the issue who continue to beleve the lessor body of evidence promoted by the special interests.

Of course, some people who have not researched this latch on to the establishment data because they simply cannot believe that people in the industry could be so ruthless that they would intentionally coverup information that would cause suffering or even death. These people are very naive and know little about history.

I certainly understand that it's hard to believe initially that these kinds of people exist, but that does not make it untrue. It was initiallly hard for me to believe as well, but remember, you have to get your own feelings out of the way to do real research; Let the data lead you, not your emotions, then you will discover what so many others already have.

You Said...

---
But hey, I read that there's this special water out there that can cure my chronic pain, and there's tons of stuff out there that says that water's really good for my health, and I'm made up of water mostly, right?, so I'm gonna go and jump off my meds and do that, cause - man - look, I have a press release that says I should, and JAMA and NEJM and the AMA totally don't support it, so yeah! Screw THE MAN!! I'm gonna Drink my nerve pain away!!! Where's my checkbook, 'cause - yeah - I'm gonna give these people every dime I own!!
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/7/prweb411216.htm
---

This has nothing to do with me and is a poor satire of my mindset.

On a final note...

Sometimes the establishment data is right. Sometimes it is wrong. It does not matter who is right or wrong. What really matters is * what * is right or wrong... i.e. What the cause of a disease is so we can deal with the root problem and get people healthy instead of simply covering up symptoms.

Do your research.

Since recently becoming aware that amalgam is the most likely cause of my poor health and mental state I actually feel enlightened yet exhausted. I now feel like I am in a quandary. If I feel overwhelmingly and convincingly better after I have all my amalgams removed I would naturally feel ecstatic.

I am a realist though. I have had these amalgams for many years and have felt 'subnormal' for about 12 years. I don't expect to feel miraculously better immediately after having them removed. (One of my esteemed lecturers of Natural Medicine told me that on average it takes one month for every year of dysbiosis to obtain cure). If this was true and I have had amalgams in for 23 years I am in effect looking at 23 months. I am preparing myself for the set backs. I guess the beauty of this forum is that we hear about the remarkable stories that buoys our resolve but we also hear about the hideous insidious nature of mercury that prepares us for the worst case scenario.

I guess the reason why I feel exhausted lies in the fact that if amalgam is clearly shown to be my downfall, I would not be able to leave sleeping dogs lie. I simply could not rest on my laurels.

I only wish now that I had studied biochemistry and not natural medicine. I have had countless thoughts about how I could make a difference but it overwhelms me. I feel powerless.

This whole thing makes me wonder about my studies of natural medicine. Don't get me wrong, I will always sway in the direction of alternative over allopathic medicine. But, must admit if I was to get run over out on the street I would much prefer to be taken to my local emergency centre than my local homeopath !!

What this has made me realise is that 'natural medicine' is still mimicking allopathic medicine to a degree by bandaiding the symptoms instead of really looking for the cure. The 'bandaids' are herbs, homeopathics, dietary, manipulations etc etc. Preferable to pharmaceuticals naturally but still in effect bandaids.

It sounds to me like the naturopaths in the U.S are much more aware of the dangers of amalgam. Maybe there is some reason to this madness why I have been inflicted with this condition. Maybe it is my destiny to educate people in this country (Australia) about the effects of mercury. Gosh, were would I start ?? Research integrity and misconduct perhaps ?

Andy Cutler noted in his book on amalgam illness that alternative health practitioners often fall into the same trap that conventional practitioners do and apply band-aid solutions rather than find the root cause of illnesses and address it.

Russ I have put the time in by looking over your own website. And what I have found is that your website provides absolutely no valuable, credible information.
---

Is your concept of putting in time consisting of simply perusing my website?

Have you read research papers before?

Have you read my previous posts completely?

If you are an intelligent person, you know very well that "putting in time" in the context that I used it means researching, not perusing a wesbite and drawing conclusions 24 hours later.

I have no doubt that at least some of the people who read this thread over time will truly understand what is meant by "putting in time". Assuming you're an intelligent person, it's a simple matter to read between the lines of your posts and see that you engaging in the oldest of debate tactics. It's called, "killing the messenger".

Following is how you do it...

You said...

---
When you can provide a reputable study I will feel free to peruse it. But pretty much all the sites you mention in your posts are from people who have no credible background.
---

You discount the values of the studies because you believe that the people I mention in my posts have no reputable background.

Those intelligent people who see your responses to my posts here on this forum will clearly see that your statement saying that these people have "no reputable background" is the tactic of killing the messenger.

Because this tactic is nothing more shirking responsibility, there is nothing I can do for you.

Learning about the science behind mercury-induced illnesses from amalgam fillings and vaccines is not complicated, but it does require that one be willing to do some work. Those who shirk their responsibilty, particularly those attempting to maintain a facade of integrity will not learn these things, and if they (or you) are in fact a doctor, the ignorance caused by this lack of responsibility could be harmful and negligent.

Secondly, you assume that people with "no reputable background" are people who disperse bad information. Of course, we can only speculate on what your idea of a person with "no reputable background" really is because you don't say.

If I were to assume that your idea of someone with "no reputable background" is someone who lacks medical training or doctorates or chemical or biological degrees, then would you please make a list and tell the readers of this thread which of those in this small sampling of medical professionals (each of which is scientifically convinced of the harm mercury from amalgams or vaccines cause) are missing in terms of credentials:

(1) Boyd Haley, Ph.D,
Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry,
University of Kentucky

CURRICULUM VITAE
http://www.toxicteeth.org/old_web_site/haley-CV.html

(2) Dr. Andrew Cutler PhD, PE,
Princeton Chemistry Student,
BS in physics, University of California
Registered Professional Chemical Engineer

(3) Mark Geier, M.D., Ph.D.
David Geier, B.A.,
President, The Genetic Centers of America

(4) Dr. Bernard Rimland, Ph.D

(5) David Baskin, M.D.

(6) Mady Hornig, M.D

(7) Richard C. Deth, Ph.D.

(8) Jeff Bradstreet, M.D.

Furthermore, would you like to list your credentials and demonstrate to the readers of this thread why your judgement on this topic is superior to those listed above, and; Why, after having "put in your time" (i.e. about 24 elapsed hours, only little of which—we must speculate—involved reading actual research) you have properly discredited the in-depth scientific papers and studies written by those above.

We'll be waiting.

Thirdly, you make yet another incorrect assumption.

Assuming that your statement about "no reputable background" refers to someone who—in your view—lacks medical training or doctorates or chemical or biological degrees, you assume that only people with this type of training can carry, transmit or communicate valid information of this type.

You fail to understand that I, in making statements about illnesses caused by mercury from amalgams and vaccines, am simply repeating what I have read in studies conducted by people with credentials.

I—as a reasonably intelligent person, with a degree in electronics (although I was allowed to "clep" part of my schooling because of my own self-training), architect of commercial computer software used in 6 countries, designer of small computer systems (called "embedded systems"), having built a publishing company based on collecting and collating scientific research related to health for 9 years and distributing it in 14 countries—am perfectly capable of reading, understanding and communicating information from medical studies.

Not only that, but while reading opposing research, I am able to intelligently locate flaws in studies as indicated by opposing studies and determine where there are conflicts of interest in the funding and/or purposes of studies as well. There are countless others without medical degrees who are equally or more capable of reading, understanding and communicating information in these studies.

My primary issue I have with your objections to my conclusions is this; My conclusions are based on years of reading research from highly-qualified professionals. Your conclusions are based on—from all that I've gathered in your posts—brief encounters with related information from a single side of this issue.

I will leave it to the readers of this discussion to determine who they believe has "put their time in".

It bears pointing out what is so amazing about this statement...

---

In saying this, it seems that you consider "putting your time in" as perusing my website. At the very least, this statement is strong evidence that you have not put your time in on this subject. Considering this, I have to ask why you have such strong opinions about this subject. Why don't you simply say the three most honorable words a doctor can say, which are: "I don't know"?

Is it pride? Is it a strong desire not to see the already foundering reputation of western medicine fall further?

Whatever the reason is, it appears that you simply don't know much about this subject and therefore are doing what most elementary school children will do when their teacher has taught them an emotionally-appealing idea which is challenged: They stick up for their teacher. Were you taught that amalgams were safe in school?

I don't mean this to be sarcastic or derogatory in any way. I'm only asking that you get to know * yourself *, for only from this foundational understanding can you truly know other people, and then you can learn to separate logic from emotion.

You have left yourself a convenient way out.

If you've read my previous posts, you know that I will not conduct your research for you. That is your responsibility. By committing yourself to this "when you do this than I will do this" condition, you have provided yourself with the room you need to do nothing.

Nevertheless, as I said in my previous posts: Even if I did provide you with excellent information, you would quickly discredit it without really putting your time in. This is evidenced by the fact that just a click or two from my links, there is solid, scientific research backing up my position. Furthermore, just a few words and a click from a Google search will reveal mountains of valuable information in this regard, and although some is opposing, you, if you put in your time, will soon see where the preponderance of evidence lies.

Finally, why is it that so many people have been able to find this research, but you have not? It's reasonable at this point to ask yourself a challenging question: Do you really want to?

Huggins shouldnt even post that he is a dentist since he got his license revoked in 1996.
---

As would any dentist who simply repeats what the preponderance of evidence says about dental amalgam.

This is because the current ADA ethics guidelines for dentists prohibit dentists from suggesting that illnesses could be caused by dental amalgam, despite massive evidence to the contrary.

I was saved from my horrible medical conditions by the brave work of this man who has been willing to stand up in the face of special interests. I read his book entitled, "It's All In Your Head" in two days and was finally able to draw the connection, based on his in-depth and insightful information, between my amalgams and my numerous illnesses.

The day after reading his book, I began planning my amalgam removal as did my business partner and soon thereafter we both experienced physical recoveries that were dramatic, to say the least.

My thanks goes out to great men like Hal Huggins who you discredit, yet, has the preponderance of evidence to back him up. I emailed him a thank-you letter soon after my recovery.

If you study history, you will realize that some of the greatest men and woman are those who bravely stood up to corruption in an established field or in government. This concept is unveiled in one of my favorite sayings:

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Arthur Schopenhauer, 19th century philosopher

Everytime someone complains about some type of illness its amazing that somehow mercury is involved.
---

It's also amazing how often people are now having their amalgam fillings removed and recovering from illness that mainstream medicine calls incurable.

Are you aware of this?

If not, why not?

If so, why are you taking the position you are in refusing to research this very important subject?

You said...

Its amazing that all these people you worship all require you to buy their books in order to find out mercury is bad at a cost of about $25+ a piece and you claim our govt and its healthcare system is out to screw the common man.
---

I don't worship these people. I respect them.

Secondly, the reason you have to order a book or DVD is for the same reason you, if you are a doctor, charge for medical services.

Authors have to be paid for their time in authoring and compiling this information. As an author and publisher, I can appreciate the amount of time it takes and the logistics involved. If you were an author, it's likely you would as well.

Unfortunately, this is simply another debate tactic used to discredit authors and scientists when they hold an opinion someone else does not like; Namely, to say they are doing it for profit.

Why won't you just explore the information rather than slinging accusations?

Furthermore, the information in these materials has been life-changing for many of those who have purchased them. It certainly was for me. Not only that, but I spend a considerable amount of time parsing the information and giving requested parts of it away on my forums and in the articles I write.

As for me: As I stated in a previous post, I could be making literally 3 to 4 times more money working in my original fields (which I love), but I have chosen to help people instead.

Will you put in the time to properly study this issue for the sake of your patients?

I see Scarlet, BEX, and others mention get all root canaled teeth removed, cavitations are bad all at a cost of $7500 +,
---

It's not the root canals themselves, it's the sulphur-producing bacteria that accumulate at the site of the remaining peridontal nerve that causes additional issues. This is especially true if amalgam fillings remain in the mouth because sulphur binds aggressively with mercury which in turn can cause serious complications.

Have you read the research about this?

It's very important not to generalize scientific information, but to carefully read it and then understand it's implications.

You may be interested to know that any non-biological dentist will happily remove your dental amalgam for you but in all the estimates I've gathered, they, on average, charge significantly more than natural/biological dentists. In a couple cases, it was over three-times as much.

I had my 9 amalgams removed for about $2700 and I would have gladly given everything I own if I had to do it over again. I'm not exaggerating. It was the most significant health event in my life, by far, saving my company and very likely, my life (judging by the speed of my decline).

You said...

---
...if you got composite restorations , which Scarlet believes to be just as toxic...
---

If you put your time in, you would realize that many restorations contain estrogenic compounds. You should understand the serious health implications of this.

Some other materials contain aluminum, which has been banned from public places (I'm simplifying a little for brevity) by the European Union because of the known health concerns.

Yet other materials contain BIS-Phenols or BIS-GMAs that are known to be harmful to the liver and kidneys when chronically exposed such as in dental restorations.

Scarlet has obviously put her time in.

You said...

---
...you claim our govt and its healthcare system is out to screw the common man.
---

You have drastically over simplified this concept.

There are special interests that strongly influence powerful people within the United States government who are profiting from amalgam fillings in both direct and indirect ways. These special interests have been able to coerce (via political contributions and other means) these people to continue to promote it's use because of the profits they make.

This game is as old as governments are. A study of history—which I thoroughly enjoy because of the lessons it brings—would surely enable you to accept this.

You said...

---
On average a dentist charges $200 for a resin filling, say 10 teeth filled I would say $2000 at most so you're so called biologic dentists are even riping you off.
---

You forgot about the removal of the existing fillings. You also omitted x-rays and an initial consultation that helps the patient make preparations to protect themselves from the massive amount of mercury that is mobilized during the removal.

You also are missing the extra equipment involved with mercury filtration equipment, plus several other issues that are addressed to provide safe mercury removal.

My friend, a brilliant computer programmer with high security clearance working for the military, hastily had her amalgams removed earlier a few months ago by a non-biological dentist. She spent the next 3 days seriously ill in a hospital while doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with her. Perhaps in her case, the cost of the hospital visit should be included in your calculation of the total cost of work involving amalgam removal by non-biological a dentist.

You said...

Hey if you are looking for someone to blame with your life perhaps you need to look within and take some responsibilty for your own life and not take the easy way out.
---

Actually, I did some research, found the cause of my numerous illnesses, and cured them all, paying for the entire ordeal myself.

The cost I incurred does not include the thousands of dollars that I spent on natural supplements that helped considerably for quite a while and actually enabled me to continue working.

The cost also does not include the lost time, lost relationships, and numerous other hardships I've endured that have since vanished, most immediately after the amalgams were removed.

I *have* taken responsibility for my life, and unfortunately, I have also had to bear the enormous responsibility of the dentist who placed a known neurotoxin in my mouth.

So, in reality, I have taken *more* responsibility for my life than I should have had to bear, and all because of a dentist who believed that his favorite organization was being honest.

In terms of blame, let me quote the American Dental Association's position concerning blame in this issue:

---
"The American Dental Association (ADA) owes no legal duty of care to protect the public from allegedly dangerous products used by dentists. The ADA did not manufacture, design, supply or install the mercury-containing amalgams. The ADA does not control those who do. The ADA's only alleged involvement in the product was to provide information regarding its use. Dissemination of information relating to the practice of dentistry does not create a duty of care to protect the public from potential injury."

The Superior Court of the State of California
Case No. 718228, Demurrer (October 22, 1992)
---

Now, an astute dentist may want to carefully consider who * does * owe legal duty of care in the installation of "allegedly dangerous" dental materials, particularly considering this phrase:

---
"The ADA did not manufacture, design, supply or install the mercury-containing amalgams."
---

I would pay particular attention to the word, "install".

Again, a word to the wise...

Anyway last time I checked this website deals with oral nerve injury usually caused by a surgical procedure and not mercury toxicity, so I say lets close this topic.

My goal is to help people.

If there are people on this forum who can benefit from the information and links I provide, why don't we let them benefit. Better yet, why don't we let them make up their own minds and encourage informed consent, personal research and personal responsibility and not censor any scientific information, whether or not you or I like it or dislike it. Let's provide all the information and let people make up their own minds.

Nevertheless, I respect the moderator's wishes and the owner's wishes, so they are free to close this thread and prohibit this topic if they wish.

As for me, I will never employ policies on my forums or websites that censor science.

Just don't act that your idiotic unscientific literature is worth the paper it is written on.
---

I cannot help but to think you're feeling defensive about the fact that much information is surfacing about the dangers of mercury from amalgams and vaccines. The numerous scientific papers exposing these dangers are of the highest integrity.

Have you read them?

If not, what are you judging them?

If so, why don't you believe them (specifically)?

I cannot help but to believe that any intelligent person would have concluded that it was a bad idea to put mercury in the mouths of boys and girls.

Don't you?

---

Are you then of the persuasion that, even if scientific information exists that can help people that we should remain silent about it on this forum? Interestingly, others * have expressed interest * and even have seen the scientific literature to this effect on this very forum.

If you are a dentist and you have not been exposed to this science, then why are you so hostile rather than interested in whether or not it's true or even how it could help people?

Have you read the research?

Did you know that research has shown that chronic mercury exposure can cause people to act hostile and impulsive? I'm very serious.

Lets just say, that why is it that almost all the names you provided have been discreditted in courts of law and amongst the scientific community.
---

It is true that a few have (not "almost all", as you stated), but what does that have to do with the integrity of their papers and their scientific work which you seem to be determined not to read?

Courts are often poor judges of science and are used to promote political issues in medicine and in other disciplines. (Please read the book entitled Racketeering in Medicine and you'll understand the scope of this issue, which is another huge issue in and of itself.)

Mercury and vaccines are a very *political* (money-making) issues, and that's why they've been in the courts with any frequency.

Again, if you're familiar with history, numerous predominant figures of change were crucified by law until there views eventually became "accepted as self-evident". This is an age-old pattern and a study of history will reveal this to you.

It is often the true charlatans that persecute the heros.

This is why the following saying holds such truth:

Do you want me to start posting these links in there entirety not just snipets of people who still have their licenses. Or will you look for it yourself.

Again, a moot point, although exaggerated—probably for emotional effect—makes poor scientific arguments.

Why don't you just read the research for yourself?

You said...

Since amalgam has been used for over 150 years Im still waitning on the epidemic to occur.
---

Is this your idea of scientific evidence?

This is a favorite statistic of the ADA, but is this the kind of evidence you use to come to conclusions? I most certainly hope not.

The ADA obviously uses it to invoke emotional confidence in their position, and they need it because position cannot be backed up scientifically, except by a few special-interest papers. Certainly not by the majority literature; not by a log shot.

Do you know how the incidence of mercury placement has increased over the years; That the placement was not linear, nor was the increase in diseases of certain type. You see, it's more complex than these anecdotal statements you make can bear.

Do you know the mechanisms that cause boys to have 4-times more autism than girls?

Do you know how mercury affects homocysteine? And do you know what high homocysteine leads to?

Do you know what mercury does to DHT (dihydrotestosterone) levels and in turn, how that affects humans?

I really hope you don't rely on the ADA's blatently misleading statistic about 150 years as evidence for placing mercury in the mouths of people.

That's simply poor and devisive emotionalism and the ADA should be ashamed of it's tactics. Furthermore, you should not be quoting it until you understand more about the history of amalgam. You're going to end up looking foolish.

You said...

Although I do find it funny that one of your so called researchers on their website who says that vaccines are bad says that if there happens to be an epidemic well then hey maybe you should get the vaccine then.
---

Again, you're grossely oversimplifying the doctor's position. Of course, you really don't even know what that position is.

Honestly, you're drawing very hasty conclusions and would do well to hear the doctor out.

I can only serve as a witness to you—and I have—that the information that the doctor draws out of the research from your peers is outstanding. What you decide to do with the information I've provided helps determine how much you really know or don't know about what your peers are saying.

Truly, if you heard the doctor out, you would be ashamed of your current position (unless your pride prevented it).

The vaccine issue is like the mercury issue, it is complex, but there are simple solutions that are being denied and resisted by the mainstream. The reasons for this become apparent when the positions and papers from various organizations are studied, and numerous people are doing just that.

In a very short time, you'll be standing with a vast minority.

I feel that sharing scientific information for the purposes of helping people is not a waste of time.

Food for thought...

Human milk is the best source of nourishment for the newborn because of its incomparable balanced nutrition and psychological benefits to the infant's development. Dental fillings containing metallic Hg are the primary source of inorganic Hg contamination of humans. We studied Hg concentrations in the breast milk of mothers during the first month (7-30 d) postnatal in relation to the number of amalgam surfaces. The concentration of total Hg was determined in 23 samples of human milk collected from lactating mothers with a varied number of amalgam dental restorations. The average number of amalgam surfaces was 6.87 (5.81, SD) with a range of 0 to 20. The mean concentration of total Hg in breast milk was 5.73 ng/g (range: 0-23.07). The Pearson correlation coefficient was significant (r = 0.6087, p = 0.0057) between breast-milk Hg and number of amalgam surfaces. In 56.5% of low-fish-eating mothers, the amount of Hg likely to be ingested by breast-fed infants is above the World Health Organization reference.

---

Amalgam, which has been in use in dentistry for 150 years, consists of 50 % elemental mercury and a mixture of silver, tin, copper and zinc. Minute amounts of mercury vapour are released continuously from amalgam. Amalgam contributes substantially to human mercury load. Mercury accumulates in some organs, particularly in the brain, where it can bind to protein more tightly than other heavy metals (e. g. lead, cadmium). Therefore, the elimination half time is assumed to be up to 1 - 18 years in the brain and bones. Mercury is assumed to be one of the most toxic non-radioactive elements. There are pointers to show that mercury vapour is more neurotoxic than methyl-mercury in fish. Review of recent literature suggests that mercury from dental amalgam may lead to nephrotoxicity, neurobehavioural changes, autoimmunity, oxidative stress, autism, skin and mucosa alterations or non-specific symptoms and complaints. The development of Alzheimer's disease or multiple sclerosis has also been linked to low-dose mercury exposure. There may be individual genetical or acquired susceptibilities for negative effects from dental amalgam. Mercury levels in the blood, urine or other biomarkers do not reflect the mercury load in critical organs. Some studies regarding dental amalgam reveal substantial methodical flaws. Removal of dental amalgam leads to permanent improvement of various chronic complaints in a relevant number of patients in various trials. Summing up, available data suggests that dental amalgam is an unsuitable material for medical, occupational and ecological reasons.
