Hi Russ - and everybody! Okay, as if things weren't bad enough, I had a horrible taste in my mouth for weeks. Now it seems as if my tonge is burning on the side of most of my amalgams. I know you had a bad taste, but did you have burning too? This is getting really out of hand. Every time I get a new symptom I think "Okay, I guess i can live with this" but then I get a new one that is even worse. This burning tongue is like the most distressing thing because you just can't stop thinking about it.
I try and eat just to take it away, and it works for a while. I try to drink Aloe Vera juice and that helps for a minute or two.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, spiderbaby

Hi spider.
Very sorry to hear about this distressing ailment.
I didn't have this symptom when my fillings were in. I had a white coating on my tongue top surface (most of my life, which went away just after the removal), swelling in my tongue that made it more difficult to speak, and lots of salivation, but never a burning sensation.
Is the sensation inside or are there sores on the surface?

Hi Russ, thanks for getting back to me. There are no lesions or spots or anything. The weird thing is the burning is on the side of my problematic dental work. I have amalgam on the top and gold on the bottom. My holistic dentist thinks it is the galvanization between the dissimilar metals causing the burning. I hope he is right. He is taking off the gold crown in two weeks and replacing it with porcelain. I hope it helps. I don't think I can handle this pain for two more weeks!!

Hmmm, Have you tried anything link Tea Tree oil, perhaps?
Also, does it tingle at all too, or just burn?
