Hi, I was diagnosed as having a low platelet count about 4 years ago and have a sensitivity to mercury. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has the same condition and whether there's a connection between the two.

I also have low platelet count. It was the only thing that showed up as abnormal on the blood tests. My doctor didn't seem to think it was a problem. I don't really know what it would mean.
My platelets were 139 10^9/L the normal range is (150-400).

I donated platelets once, and they told me my platelets were low and were clumped together. This was pre amalgam removal. I never went to check on it because I am sick of drs. I haven't a clue as to whether or not it is caused by mercury, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Really interesting. My platelet count has always been around 85 and had gone up to 98 when I was last checked (pre amalgam removal) I'm checked every six months so it will interesting to see if it will have gone up now I've had my fillings replaced. I'll keep you posted.
