TAKE B-12 FROM A NATURAL SOURCE ONLY AFTER AMALGAM REMOVAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Lizbet, and Sandra,
I have lingual and inferior alveolar nerve damage all over my mouth due to my dental surgery. To make a long story short I too could not take B12 without it making me feel really toxic after amalgam removal. Its true that you should not take this after you have your amalgams removed since it makes you feel worse and makes the mercury in your system more toxic. However it is safe when it is taken from a food source.
I found natural suppliments that had B vitamins and B 12 in them that I could take after amalgam removal without feeling ill. In fact I feel even better as far as mercury and nerve damage is concerned. Chlorella, Kelp, Burdock root, Dandelion root, Red clover flowers, and Golden seal root, all have B vitamins, and B12 in them.
I also take garlic oil, flax oil, essential fatty acids, Astragalus root, Milk thistle, Pau d' arco, and Echinecea. Each herb is healthy for you in more ways than one. Most of these excellent herbs are to strengthen the immune system and liver as well as for nerve damage.
PLEASE NOTE: Astragalus root should not be taken in the presence of a fever. Burdock root interferes with iron absorption. So take it separately from iron rich foods. I'd say about 2 hours apart from eachother. Golden seal should not be taken for longer than a week at a time. It should be taken with caution if you are allergic to ragweed. It should not be taken if you are pregnant. Its best when taken with Echinacea. Echinacea should not be taken if you are allergic to plants in the sunflower family.
Suppliments in their most natural state is recommended, not synthetic vitamins which are man made, since they may have other chemicals and fillers in them. I believe B vitamins are best when they are taken straight from the plant like herbs. Also B vitamin suppliments you can actually eat as a food like chlorella, kelp, alfalfa sprouts, etc. are best. All the nutrients are still there and in perfect balance with eachother for better absorption.
To find out exactly what each herb is for read, "Prescription for nutritional healing" by James Balch M.D. and Phyllis Balch C.N.C. This is an excellent reference book for any health question you may have concerning suppliments, nutrition, and desease!!!
I don't recommend though that you take any suppliment or herb without looking up the information about it in this book first. There are other books, but I found this one to be more helpful, and accurate. This book is found in many healthfood stores as a reference. There are some herbs that certain people should not be taking for certain disorders. Also some herbs should not be taken internally, etc
Also there have been good results with Acupuncture, Low level laser treatments, Cold laser treatments, and using a Muscle stimulator for Lingual and inferior Alveolar nerve damage. I bet this would help nerve damage in other parts of the body as well. I got only 2 acupuncture treatments and I noticed a great improvement!!!
Just by reading the forums, I found that most people who have had surgery and/or took pharmaceutical drugs had more excusiating lingual and inferior alveolar nerve pain, and for many more years than people who have done the above treatments. They seemed to have gotten much better!!!
I hope you this information is helpful, Good luck!!!
