Does anyone have an information on children with mother's mercury? Is is helpful to detox them after the fact? I know that vitamins are fine for them regardless, but what of herbs and supplements?

As I posted elsewhere, there is an American acupuncture doctor who seems to think that a psychological approach may be in order in addition to any purely physical methods used: the older child, I guess that's teenagers & up? - would write down everything that's eating them, then burn that paper in a symbolic act of dumping all the poison. I guess this doctor thinks that how you get to have mercury lodged in your body is just as important as the mere fact of having it there. You know, the whole mind-body approach. I have no particular opinions on whether this works or not. But he seems to have a lot of experience in helping people with heavy metals.
As to young children who have mother's mercury, and who aren't able to write things down, I don't know. My son benefited greatly from ProAlgen for various problems that may have been caused by my fillings, though I have not had huge concerns myself...maybe it is true that the baby sucks up the mother's poison. God, what a ghastly world this is for those of us who don't know we are making mistakes!
In any event, a child whose mother has fillings would be deficient in all kinds of nutrients, it seems to me, as you alluded to. So, you could have the child tested, I suppose, and supplement accordingly.

I would definitely detox them, plus keep them protected from mercury-induced oxidative damage with vitamin E, vitamin C and Algin. Mercury in the body, no matter what the source, should be removed. There are also deep emotional effects that mercury has on children and adults. I often recoginize them by their behavior fitting into one-or-more of the following patterns: - Autistic behavior, spinning, screaming, restlessness and lack of focus
- Shyness, oversensitivity to critism, withdrawn behavior, excessive fear of authority
- Perverse behavior, enjoying causing controversy, interest in dark things or macabrely behavior
- Lack of caring about life, personal health, wellness or social issues, feelings of helplessness
- Predefensiveness, overly apologetic nature, bursts of anger

Hi there,
I would seek some professional help..naturopath/homeopath..just so you're not guessing...children are still growing and changing everyday, so I would think that their bodies would need different supplements...but the good thing is that their immune system is probably stronger, and the healing process is probably faster than adults....Just my opinion...I wouldn't want to give them stuff by using the "trial and error" method...Good luck Sandra P

I just talked to a mom today from this forum who's little girl (9 yrs old?) has been taking Algin and she has improved a lot (behavior-wise). Her daughter's mercury exposure was most likely from vaccinations, but possibly also from environmental sources (the little girl was adopted from an Asian country so it's hard to know for sure). Besides Algin, I would suggest at least 3 to 4 grams of a good quality Vitamin C with bioflavonoids (which occur with vitamin C naturally). Just make sure there's no added sugar, etc. I use and recommend NSP's Vitamin C, Citrus BioflavonoidsAs far as herbs for general good health, there's Alfalfa and Bee Pollen, which are both full of nutrients. Another products that has worked great for my nephew and other children I know is Elderberry Plus to help keep their immune systems healthy (no more runny noses, coughs, colds, etc.). However, it's amazing what a difference diet can make in kids. Just getting them off sugar (even too much fruit sugar can have a negative effect) can make a world of difference in their personalities, attention spans, behavior, etc.

This make a lot more sense than some of the other info I get. People recommend chelated them for metal but personally, I felt that DMSA was harsh and I do not feel we want to risk making things worse. I prefer to stick to natural ways of healing the body. Does anyone have a suggestion on getting a 3 year old to take algin? This kid will not take any medicine, he vomits them up. We don't know if it is drama or just that they make him gag. Thanks again!

What size are the algin capsules? If they are the medium or large size, you could try buying the real small capsules and fill them yourself with the algin from the larger ones.

Getting small children to take Algin...good question. You could try putting it into very small capsules, like Carla mentioned. Or you could open up the capsule and mix a small amount into applesauce, etc. The gel-like properties of Algin mean that it will definitely thicken anything liquid it comes into contact with. You might not be able to use much because it really does thicken very easily. Maybe mixing it into juice would be better, hence turning the juice into a sauce? I guess you'd just have to experiment a little. Wish I could be of more help with this one.
Because Algin thickens so much, I wouldn't suggest trying to take the powder loose and drink it down. I tried this with a whole capsule and trust me, it doesn't work. (Although I've never tried a very small amount.)

Thank you for the advice. I will have to try mixing it into something. He is only three and there is no way he will swallow any pills. Actually we can't even get him to take cough medicine, he throws it up. He is very sensitive to taste, smell and anything new. Maybe I will put it in his soup or something.
