Yes, I am reading it plain and clear. Why would there be titanium dioxide in a multi-vitamin? I don't remember learning in anatomy and physiology that we needed that for cell function. Am I wrong or should this NOT be in a vitamin?

OK..to answer my own question...Titanium dioxide is used to color the vitamin coating. According to the FDA it is usually used to tint plastic making them white. And they claim that our body does not absorb it. They did not find any in the tissues of people who consumed it. It is approved of for use in many food products and industrial plastics. Hmmmm... I think I'll skip it myself!

Silicon dioxide is powdered silica. As far as I know, it's safe and used in minute amounts to keep powdered supplements from clumping together. Silica is a trace mineral that occurs naturally in herbs like Horsetail. It works together with calcium to strengthen bones, etc. Whole Foods market has a list of "inactive" ingredients and silicon dioxide is listed as GRAS (generally recognized as safe). By the way, titanium dioxide is not listed as GRAS. I, too, avoid it whenever possible. Here's the list in case anyone is interested: Inactive Ingredients Hope this helps,
