I have contacted a holistic dentist in a nearby state about amalgam removal. They follow huggins protocol and detox. The fee for intial exam is $450. I think this includes blood work, hair tests and panorex or x-ray. Is this reasonable?

If it includes tests, then it isn't too bad, at least compared to UK standards. A place I enquired into for heavy metal toxicity testing wanted £500 (approx $900) just for the tests. I've seen a couple of dentists and they charged £80 ($150) and £120 ($210) respectively just for consultation.

As a reference, my cost's were as follows: - $250 for initial consultation and x-rays (low-power x-ray machine).
- $190 per small filling replacement
- $250 per normal/large filling replacement
Hope this helps.

Certainly helps. I have no clue what they are going to charge for the rest yet. Supposed to find that out after I pay the $450 and have exam done. I don't really know if I can afford this at all.

Do you mind if I ask who you went to? I reside in Upstate Ny and most of the holistic huggins dentist are closer you way, so I have looking into one in PA which is closer.

Here is a dentist in Pennsylvania that I found does great work. Most of my northern family goes there.
