Some of the biggest things are: - Fluorescent light bulbs
- Amalgam dental fillings (of course)
- Inks used in tattoos
- Vaccines (including the current U.S. flu vaccine)
Hope this helps.

How about those water fountain? are those contains mercury too? The amount of mercury dispersed in the air via coal-fired power plants dwarfs that dispersed by fluorescent light bulbs (although you certainly are correct, they do give off mercury). That leaves us in a bit of conundrum -- if we use regular light bulbs instead of fluorescents, our energy bills go up, which means more mercury released into the environment. Nice, eh? Also, to add to your list, some eye drops and nasal sprays contain mercury as well. Bausch and Lomb eye drops do not, to the best of my knowledge, fyi. Tom

* Seafood * Tap water (uk anyway). Brita water filters also use mercury (WHO safe levels) in their filters, but I still use them as I'm guessing it's still less than what's in my tap water.

I should clarify here: I do *not* know that CFLs emit mercurcy - I know they contain mercury, but I'm not sure if they actually emit mercury, unless broken.

All seafood. Mercury ends up in our oceans and water supplies. So any creature that live there absorbs it. Generally speaking I would not consume any of it. I do hear that you can purchase fish raised without mercury. They are raised on "fish farms".
