The atheist community's laughing all over itself, while simultaneously complaining people who actually have morals have to call to laugh. GLENDALE, Calif. (CN) - Evolutionary biologist and best-selling author Richard Dawkins claims an employee of his Foundation for Reason and Science embezzled $375,000 from the online store he ran for Dawkins' charity, by claiming it made only $30,000 in 3 years. Dawkins says he founded the charity to "support scientific education, critical thinking and evidence-based understanding of the natural world in the quest to overcome religious fundamentalism, superstition, intolerance and human suffering." Dawkins hired Josh Timonen in 2006 to run his website and produce videos for him, according to the Superior Court complaint. Timonen began working for the Foundation in 2007. According to Timonen's own records, Dawkins and the Foundation paid Timonen a total of $278,750 in 3½ years - an amount Dawkins calls "exceedingly generous and well above-market for someone of Timonen's age and experience, particularly for someone providing the bulk of his efforts to a charitable organization." Courthouse News Look at the numbers. A "charity" making $30,000 while paying an individual over $90,000/year? And adding in the amount Dawkins claims was embezzled improves the picture? See the Examiner dot com story "Atheist vs Atheist" for more about that issue. The "charity" had to be run operated out of California because it couldn't pass muster under U.K. regulations. There already appears to be a considerable attempt to cover things up. PPS: I should note that RDF have apparently removed my name off of articles that I wrote on RichardDawkins.net. Both ‘Surviving Jesus Camp’ and ‘Expelled Overview’ say they were written by “The Richard Dawkins Foundation” and not me personally. And they’ve also taken the line off of the website which stated “Designed by Josh Timonen”. Lovely. That's according to the atheist being sued. Taken together with the link to the story breaking already at American Atheists , we seem to be witnessing typical scoffer behaviour. On account of this, I'm providing more links, some of which contain foul language right off the bat. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...w-dawkins-sues-his-disciple-2115632.htmlhttp://www.ukskeptics.com/forum/showthread.php/5706-Dawkins-sues-Timonenhttp://www.rationalskepticism.org/news-politics/dawkins-sues-josh-timonen-t14455.html#p532057http://sciencenotes.wordpress.com/2010/10/23/richard-dawkins-sues-forum-moderator-for-embezzlement/* this discussion's been locked: http://www.rationalskepticism.org/news-politics/dawkins-sues-josh-timonen-t14455.htmlhttp://heathen-hub.com/blog.php?b=692One doubts this will deter the preaching and teaching of immorality under the guise of amorality, at least significantly. They didn't learn from Madelyn Murray O'Hare, so why should they learn from this? "Anything goes" means betrayal is a-okay, atheists. Do you really think you're that much smarter than all your "elite" "friends"? But I know the game. There are fraudulent "christians" so I should keep my mouth shut, right? Well those frauds are on your side serving your master, propped up by your support from long ago. As with the rest of your bunk, only those who desire to be fooled are really at risk.
