Does anybody understand cavitations and how they are detected? I was told by a doctor using a "voll machine", that I had dead pulp/gangrene in the bottom left side of my jaw (from a wisdom tooth extraction in 2004). Also incompatible dental materials on the same side (two).

I go to a dentist for specific testing and he finds nothing! He
tested me with panoramic xray, and something called "topas" testing. He did not think I had a cavitation, but did find I had periodontal gum disease.

Can cavitations be missed by most tests? Also, is it possible that incompatible dental materials can cause any interference in that area that the doctor might have confused with dead pulp/gangrene? I am trying so hard to find out what has happened to me, my head is spinning. Nothing makes sense and I cannot improve anymore no matter
what diet I follow, or how many chelations I do. It's as though
everything is blocked from healing and I try and do all I can to find out why, but there are no answers.

I am so fatigued that I sit nearly all the time due to exhaustion and I've never had that problem. It's as though there is no energy whatsoever in my body. I can't gain weight, or an appetite. I just wish somebody knew what was doing this. I cannot believe all this is mercury. If it was, there'd be no reason that I would not improve over time with chelation like I once used to.

I'm so tired of it all, i feel like just giving up. I have NO amalgam in my mouth, all these symptoms I'm getting now got worse after routine dental procedures (wisdom tooth removal and replacement of two older composites with what I now find out to be incompatible/toxic ones). I have NEVER been this sick, even with mercury poisoning. I know mercury is part of the problem, but I doubt it's all of it.

Candida has similar symptoms to amalgam illness, if it's not the cavitations...

Hi, yeah could be candida, but I am on a candida diet. I was improved by that, but then took antifungals which worsened my mercury toxicity for some reason and I'm dealing with that as well. I guess it could be ANY of them! They all cause similar symptoms I suppose.

Bex, I haven't been there, but can you imagine the trouble that gangrene in your jaw could be doing? If you have gangrene in your foot, it will KILL YOU if you don't have your foot amputated in time. Gangrene, like the anaerobic bacteria in your jaw, can be deadly. Just think of botulismn. The bacteria which causes this is not too bad, until it grows under anaerobic conditions. Then it becomes potent and deadly. Get your jaw cavitations cleaned out.
DON'T DELAY!!
And then get compatible tooth materials placed. I am no expert, but I wouldn't be surprised if the jaw cavitation is the source of your problems, from all that I've read.

Dallas, you have a point I know. But how can someone just get cavitations cleaned out when the dentist says there aren't any? I have seen probably the best dentist in my country and he's tested me and found nothing. So, I'm unsure how people can just get their cavitations cleaned out, unless they have been tested first to see if there are any.

I really don't know what to do. I regret bitterly ever having my lower wisdom teeth removed and realise now they never had to be done. When they came out, they were perfect teeth. I got told they "should" be taken out because they were not completely exposed and "might" cause problems in my future. Um, does it not occur to them that they can ruin your life by taking them out? But then, once again, I have no proof they have done this to me.

If I had cavitations, surely they would show up on an xray etc? The EAV testing is "voll testing" I think. They are pretty much the same thing. It showed I did have dead pulp/gangrene on one wisdom tooth site. Yet the dentist finds nothing, so what can I do? I'm bewildered.

Bex, the cavitations DO NOT show up on an xray that I know of. My holistic dentist did a panorex of my whole mouth, but still, I had to go back to have the EAV testing done because, he expected to find cavitations with the condition of my mouth. The dead pulp/gangrene found on the voll testing is what may be bothering you. The key word is "gangrene". The toxins in gangrene are DEADLY! So, even in small amounts, such as in an old wisdom tooth space, they will travel throughout your system wreaking total havoc with your health. And, the incompatible restorations could be adding to your distress. No wonder you don't feel well! If I had any kind of gangrene (cavitation bacteria) in my mouth, and I felt like you do, I would be frantic to get rid of it. I don't know where you live, but maybe you could tell us the area you are in and someone could recommend a dentist. What does everyojne else think of this?

Hi, I live in New Zealand. We don't have a lot of biological dentists here. The one I use is the best in this country, has been overseas and studied, has the highest tech equipment and uses no mercury in his surgery, on top of using a sophisticated extraction system to remove any vapor from his office when he does any mercury removals.

The doctor who tested me on the voll machine (EAV), is also one of the top in my country. In fact, he used to work with this dentist, but the dentist has gone his own way now and gotten his own office etc.

The dentist, as I said, used the panoramic xray and "topas" testing to check for any sign of cavitations. You say they do not show up with xrays, and that concerns me GREATLY. He also has a cavitat machine, but did not use this on me, obviously due to my financial situation (i'm not well off) and also the fact he probably thought the other testing was enough and that according to him, I have no cavitations.

I do not know what to do. i'm contemplating insisting on the cavitat scan and getting him to do my incompatible dental materials as well. I feel, that the incompatible dental materials, which lie RIGHT next to the suspect cavitation might be increasing the leakage of toxins/bacteria in that area and possibly further blocking proper circulation due to their incompatibility. Just as you said too.

I have just typed an email to the doctor who used the voll machien on me and found the "dead pulp/gangrene" and told him my situation. So I'll see what he says when he replies.

How can a dentist go through with cavitation cleaning simply from a EAV machine detection? Don't they need further proof?

Thanks so much for your help. I am really in a right fix. Trying as hard as I can to do something about it.

Yes, the dr. who did your "voll" test should be able to send the results to your dentist. I don't know what further tests need to be done, if any. Perhaps another voll test when the cavitation is cleaned out to make sure it is clean. I understand what it is to not have enough money. I cannot afford this either, but I could afford even less getting sicker year by year. And then, some of my kids need work too, for they are having problems. I pray that the Lord will provide, and He has never let me down.

Hi. The doctor and this dentist used to work together, so the dentist knows this doctor and his testing well. I told him the results, and this is why he did follow-up testing to see for himself and nothing showed up. How can I get him to clean out something he says isn't there? If he thought the voll test was enough, he'd not have done further testing.

I cannot force him to clean out a cavitation if he feels there isn't one there. It would mean surgery to do this, which is no small deal. The only thing I can do, is get him to do the cavitat scan on me, as that is supposedly very accurate. Other than this, i cannot continue to go on at him, if he simply says there is no cavitation.

The only other thing I can do is, get him to replace my composites and simply find another dentist for the cavitation problem. Financially, I am absolutely run into the ground by all this. I do not want to go on as I am, but cannot force this dentist's hand. The cavitat scan will cost 700 dollars to get done (NZ dollars).

It's amazing how much these things cost, when you consider the problems we are experiencing are caused by the dentist's in the first place. I have to honestly just try and keep my cool and do the bit that I can under the circumstances. This dentist is highly competent and thorough. He goes the extra mile for things that other dentist's don't consider. So it is quite possible I do not have a cavitation and the doctor may have confused the dead pulp/gangrene for the toxic composites in the same area of the mouth. But I'm still going to do further testing, I am not satisfied.

Thanks so much for your replies by the way!

Hmmm. Don't know what to make of it all. If the guy who did the voll test could show it to your dentist, maybe something would come of it. You paid for these things. You should be able to use them.
Another consideration. Do you have any root canals? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Yeah I know, I should be able to get the Dr to do that. But, it's not really necessary, as the dentist knows him well and his testing, so it's just a matter of the dentist confirming what was found on the voll and so far nothing. .

No, I don't have any root canals. It's a real bizzare mystery. I know some cavitations can be hidden and can still cause problems. I've heard of DMSO to use in the mouth that can sometimes drawn the toxins out that way, but I don't think anything can compare to opening it up and clearning it out surgically. Some don't always work, apparently 75% do, but the rest often have to have the same place done 5 or 6 times before they get things to heal properly.

You gotta wonder why dentists put us in this situation to begin with....

But I' have emailed that doctor and informed him of what's happened and to see if he can give me some kind of explanation for why his voll testing told me I have gangrene, yet nothing shows up in panormaic xray or topas test.

I'm also going to express my concerns to the dentist again too and let him know that I want further investigating done with the cavitat scan, even if he thinks it's a waste of time. I have heard that's very accurate. But I'm unsure about anything now. I just want it resolved.

It could have been the die-off, or, mercury being released from the yeast infection. It's so hard to tell.

Also, who do you go to in regards to cavitations? A holestic dentist? Will the normal dentist be happy to do this stuff?

Hi, the antifungal played a big role in making me far far worse. I can't put this down to die off because die off is temporary and I stopped the antifungal over three months ago now and the aftereffects from what it did have remained ever since. The symptoms since taking it and stopping it have been - nausea, chills, metallic taste, muscle spasms, exhaustion, depression, anxiety, puffy eyes, total loss of appetite, food allergies and severe muscle weakness etc etc. I was unwell before it yes, but the candida diet helped me tremendously. Antifungal use destroyed the improvement I'd gained and has done some damage that I cannot explain. The only explanation I can give is what you said also, perhaps mercury was released from the candida when its cell walls had been split open by the antifungal, leaving me far more mercury toxic than before. I have NO other explanation, other than the candida coming back stronger from trying to kill it and now it has more of a grip in trying to survive from the assault of the antifungal and has spread further. But using one again, might further release mercury (if that was the case). You can see my dilemma!

As far as cavitations go. I don't know the best person to go to. I am already in touch with a dentist here who is probably the top as far as biological and thorougness goes. He uses the best equipment I know of and has overseas up-to-date studies etc. He found nothing, but has not yet used the "cavitat" scan on me, so I may insist on having that done as a further precaution. Yes, he is holistic (biological). He does all he can to avoid toxicity in dentistry. His office is new, he makes sure that when he removes mercury, he uses an extraction system that removes the vapour from the atmosphere etc. You can see why I'd want him involved in my dental problems.

If the cavitat scan finds nothing wrong, I don't know what else I can do. No work can be done on me unless the dentist is satisfied that there is proof before him to do the job. I cannot just go by telling him a voll test said there was gangrene, as he tested me further to confirm this and there was no confirmation. Not enough to do surgery. A voll test does not show the actual problem it just "detects" it. The dentist has to find visual proof in order to perform the surgery, it's invasive and costly. So that is why I'm going to insist on the cavitat scan.

I'm hoping it'll show something, so that will explain my inability to gain health. Mercury and incompatible dental materials are part of the problem, but I do not believe they are THE root cause. If they are, that does not explain my lack of improvement over time, it just indicates they are a further challenge. I am trying now to work towards removing the incompatibe dental materials, as I have heard they can cause chronic immune response and chronic illness and even stop a person from healing (so they maybe worse than I realise). I have to have them done anyway, as I have shrinkage in my older composites and decay on another side of my mouth also, so they have to be removed at some stage. I might as well get them over and done with. Though the dentist will not do the work because I'm too toxic for the job. He's trying to "prepare" me for it, yet I cannot even tolerate detoxing properly!

I feel as though I'm in a no win situation. If i ever come out of this, I can only use my mistakes/misfortune as a way of helping other people avoid the same thing. It's a tough lesson and I have many regrets over the things that were done, that were not necessary to do. The wisdom teeth being removed should never have been done, they were fine as they were, but I was told "they should be removed, just in case they cause problems for you in the future". This was totally untrue, as the removal has caused me the very thing they warned me about, I'm sure of it. I guess it's all down to the dollar! Make money, take out teeth whether they need it or not, fill teeth whether they need it or not and leave the patient poorer and worse off, and then they need to rectify the damage that's been done by paying out more money to another dentist.

Wow, they got it made. Am I just being cynical and over negative? I probably am, but I don't have a lot of trust anymore.

Hm.

If antifungals exaggerate mercury symtops through releasing mercury into the body, I wonder what is safe to use. I know for a fact probiotics are a no-no.

A while ago, I was on a diet that reduced my acne. I was only eating raw fish (I later switched to raw egg yolk due to the mercury in fish) and raw fruit. My acne got a lot better and I felt great overall. I may try to go back on that diet as it's pretty much, barring the fruit which seemed ok then so i may eat them again, a anti-candida diet. My digestive capability is better now, so I may switch the egg yolk for meat.

Perhaps the only real way to defeat candida is the diet, for mercury sufferers anyway. Although, garlic may be safe to use. I still need to test that. Also on an aside, a while ago I wrote about strange white blobs appearing in my stool. That's related to candida from what I've read.

It seems that you're reacting badly to the other fillings you now have, i.e. non amalgam. But you spoke of a metallic taste. Surely they'd have to be some kind of metal in your mouth for that?

Hi there. Yep, the metallic taste is an issue. Either that is from what was released by the candida when I killed it (possible mercury that's been in my body for ages), or other metals from the replacement materials, I have glass ionomers which can contain metal salts such as arsencic, lead, aluminium being such examples.

So not sure what it is, but it's DEFINITELY metal. Sometimes I can taste it and even feel it trying to come out of my eyes (which sounds bizzare I know). I get seeping out of my eyes at the sametime and can sense metal.

I can't use garlic either. That produces similar symptoms from killing yeast. It's potent stuff, healthy but I think it can be used in moderation. I think right now I am just too metal toxic to risk alot. Garlic can also move mercury around and often can move it all over the place, so that's another issue.

Some people do well on it though, so trying things in small doses is probably ok and seeing what happens. Yep, I can't use pro-biotics either, I get bad metal symptoms from that too.

I guess it just depends how toxic a person is, where the metals are located and how much yeast is carrying metals within them. The whole thing is unreal.

I've heard raw eggs are excellent for mercury toxic people. I might try this. how do you have them? Do you mix them with anything? beat them? or just crack an egg open and swallow it whole?

read all the stuff about eggs. Basically, start of only eating 1 or 2 yolks a day. After a while, get upto around 8 eggs. Break the shells and drink the yolk, NOT the white and DO NOT eat eat the yolk's 'sack'. If this is going to be your own source of protein you have to be pretty determined, and I'm not sure If i'm that determined now.

Hi, that's a lot of eggs! I don't know if I could get up to eating that many. That's too much personally. I don't know if I'm that determined either. But I do know some people eat just one or two raw eggs a day (white included) and they have found it's done very good things. Thanks for the info.

Bex,

I would be really careful about the raw eggs idea for a couple reasons.

#1 - The yellow color in egg yolks is caused from sulphur, the same stuff that "moves mercury around" in garlic.

#2 - You can easily get food poisoning from raw eggs.

If you're mercury toxic and you have no more amalgam fillings in your mouth, I would recommend avoiding sulphur for at least a few months. Also, if you do decide to have sulphur, you want to take it with Algin so the mobilized mercury does not get reabsorbed from the colon.

I took MSM which contains a lot of sulphur binding sites for mercury immediately after my amalgam removal in July of 2000 and got very sick for several days after I stopped taking it. At the time, I thought sulphur was good for mercury toxic people?which it is?but only in gradually increasing amounts and only when taken with Algin for protection.

Hope this helps.

Hi Russ, I agree with the sulphur. I don't have many eggs, but when i do, they are not as bad for as garlic is. Ican notice a difference wtih garlic. Eggs, I am "ok" with, so long as I don't overdo it. I don't eat them raw anyway, I usually have omelettes or something. Only very rarely do I have them raw in an egg nog.

and yeah the algin would be a good help.
