Since my amalgam removal, I have noticed my symptoms worsening with the consumption of high sulphur containing foods, like eggs. I am trying to modify my diet to avoid them for a while, and the only guide I can find is Russ' list on the mercurytalk.com website: List of Foods That Contain Sulphur But if you read this list, it includes most of the main vegetables (tomatoes, onions, carrots, garlic, red (bell?) peppers, avocado, broccoli, etc), "nuts & seeds", "Grains", "meat protein", legumes (beans) and cheese. Well then, what in the world do I eat? The entire bottom tier of the food pyramid was eliminated with "Grains." Which grains are high sulphur? Which "nuts & seeds"? Which beans? If Sulphur is in most common foods, then what is most important to avoid? Or is there any other sort of precaution I can take that will help catch what is stirred up by the consumption of sulphur? (As I understand it, sulphur causes the mercury to be mobilized and released from the tissues to the blood stream) I have tried taking more Algin than normal when I had eggs, but that didn't help how I felt. Does anyone have a more comprehensive list or any suggestions? This is something we should really work on clarifying since sulphur seems to have a large impact on those of us with a lot of mercury still in our systems. There are a lot of questions here, but any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

I also struggle with this one. I have to avoid complex carbohydrates and sugar because of the candida, so my diet consists of protein (meat, eggs), vegetables (all those listed), nuts, cheese and a small amount of joghurt. Even though I think I am very mercury toxic, I haven't noticed that the high sulphur foods make me feel any worse or better, but then I feel dreadful most of the time. I don't see how you can avoid them if you are eating a healthy whole food diet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've never understood why we should stay away from sulphur. Garlic and Broccoli helps fight candida...

To simplify the sulphur information, this is the rule I follow:
"No eggs" (because they contain a lot of sulphur)
We all need sulphur in our diet as it is arguably one of the most important minerals we have. I don't believe we should avoid all of the foods listed in the high-sulphur food list because in many cases the benefits outweigh the risk.
Just keep an eye on what you eat and how you feel after. If you notice mercury symptoms consistently after a certain food, just eliminate it from your diet. That's what I do.
Hope this helps.

I notice when my 9 1/2-year-old daughter eats different foods (eggs, cheese, & dairy) her symptoms get worse - very moody, crying easily, doesn't want to do her chores, & problems with homework.
Hopefully, eliminating these foods will help her out.

Let us know what happens.
