My mercury level is at 1.88 ug/g. Slightly elevated.

The result that did come back highly elevated was Bismuth. This is an ingredient in mineral makeup. I won't be using that anymore. Very important ladies. Check your face powder and throw away the bismuth containing stuff. It obviously penetrates your system. Plenty of natural brands don't use it.

So my mercury wasn't as high as expected. I am waiting to hear from my doctor as to the action we will be taking to deal with it.

So far my copper levels tested in blood and hair are not coming accross as elevated. The doctor is running more tests as he is very much suspecting hight copper in me.

Hi Wormwood,

I have had hair analysis testing, and both times showed very low levels of mercury. I was pretty much told there was no problem with mercury. However, an expert here in New Zealand who has treated mercury toxic patients for years analysed the tests and told me another story. Based upon my symptoms which coincided with mercury, my reactions to provoking metals via mobilsation/chelation, he interpreted the condition as retention toxicity, which he said is one of the worse case scenarios and often the sickest and most difficult mercury toxic patients to treat. This basically means their body is not able to eliminate mercury efficiently enough, which is why it is not showing up on testing. He said ideally, the mercury levels should rise on testing to show it is coming out.

In fact, he said a healthy person would show a higher level than what I did because we're exposed to this one way or the other. To have such low levels was not a good sign in his opinion.

This could by why I was so ill. Which made a lot of sense, since I had a great deal of pain and trouble trying to detox mercury over the years and how long it took to do so. Extreme reactions upon any provocation/movement of the mercury in me was also evident this was the problem. Basically all my symptoms got much worse upon trying to detox the mercury, yet over time, I was making improvements.

So low levels can be interpreted in a way that may not be entirely accurate. low levels may mean low levels, but it can also mean the person is reacting to even a very low level of mercury. Or it could mean the mercury is bound up tightly and not being actively eliminated, therefore is not showing up.

High levels maybe bad, but may also indicate the person is able to excrete the mercury. It can also mean the person is being poisoned right at that time (existing amalgams and/or or some other current exposure).

Usually the way of discovering if mercury is indeed a or the culprit, is looking for a pattern (mineral levels), taking note of symptoms, reactions to chelation etc.

Add me to the list that had a low level of mercury on hair analysis test but give me a chelator or mobilizer and it's a different story.

Why high copper? Are you anemic? Many people are low in copper.

The problem with hair testing is that it shows what you are excreting, not what is in you. Those who are most poisoned might be that way since their body can excrete very little mercury.

Good post and very true point there JK.

After different tests I am not showing as having copper problems. I have tested high to Pyroluria. I am being treated for it. Still waiting to start on the mercury detox. I am not mentally stable enough to start it yet. Gosh this is hard.

"I am not mentally stable enough to start it yet."

Perhaps you might not become mentally stable until after you have your amalgams replaced and do plenty of chelation. Many here have or had plenty of cognitive problems.

Blood testing for mercury as well as hair testing are almost worthless. If someone has an industrial accident, then their blood may show high levels of mercury soon after. The body removes the mercury from the blood and stores it in the brain, liver, kidneys, and nervous system. When one has long term exposure to lower levels of mercury such as with amalgams, it is doubtful they would show high blood levels of mercury. In fact those who show symptoms of mercury toxicity, have many amalgams, and have very low blood mercury levels may be the sickest, as it shows the body is doing a poor job of excreting mercury.

Bismuth toxicity is linked with dementia.

I have started a mercury detox under medical supervision. I am on day 1. Had my first dose about an hour ago and my head is starting to feel like it is in a clamp.
I am taking
Vitamin C
Zeolite
Selenium
Lipoic Acid
and other supplements for pyroluria.

I hope I don't feel any worse than this today. I don't want my anxiety to flare up. I don't want to have a panic attack!!

Chill!

As I am supposed to be peeing out mercury, I am going to use my home urine test kit to see if anything shows later in the week. I bought the kit a year ago and it really showed nothing so I will see if anything shows this time.

Doc says it will take about 6 months to remove the mercury.

Effective treatment of chronic illness resulting from the long-term buildup of heavy metals in the body, such as chelation therapy, presents numerous clinical challenges, including undesirable side effects and unpredictable efficacy. Use of a naturally occurring zeolite, clinoptilolite, to remove these toxic substances may offer an efficacious and safe alternative to the traditional approaches. This study was designed to evaluate the ability of activated clinoptilolite suspended in water (ACS) to remove heavy metals from the body through urinary excretion without the undesirable removal of physiologically important electrolytes. The protocol utilized two treatment groups, each consisting of eleven healthy men aged 36 to 70 years. Volunteers were given a commercially available version of the study substance for seven days (Group 1) and 30 days (Group 2) and urine samples were collected at specified time points in the study. Changes in urinary concentration of the heavy metals were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and compared to the baseline. Also, serum samples were obtained from five individuals in each group and serum electrolytes were measured prior to and after taking the product. Participants in both groups had increased concentrations of heavy metals in the urine with the peak excretion at around day 4. No clinically significant alterations in serum electrolyte levels were seen at either seven or 30 days on ACS. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the daily use of an activated clinoptilolite suspension represents a potentially safe and effective way to remove toxic heavy metals from the body through increased urinary excretion without removing clinically detrimental amounts of vital electrolytes.

With ALA most of the mercury is excreted via the bowel, and not through urination. With DMSA, most of the mercury is excreted via urine. I hope you are taking the ALA every 3 hours.

Dammit!! Just had a panic attack!!! grrr. My heart suddenly went into a spasm or beating fast and everyfeeling that goes with it. So frightening. I even halved the dose to four drops this morning due to the symptoms of the last couple of days.
Going to have to tell the doctor. Wondering if the protocol can be effective at one drop to start with. I can't handle this!!

Yes, worked it out. Spent a say researching, yet again. I have been reading about this stuff on and off for over ten years. I have been riddled with agoraphobia for the last 10 years. Have tried everything and will try detoxing this once and for all.

I have been on Pyroluria treatment for a year and have noticed no improvement. I have given up on that diagnosis.

My sauna is now broken. It went underwater in a flood and now doesn't work properly. Such a bummer.
