Hello all,
I found this info on a dentists website;
[color:"blue"] [Cerec 3D is a revolutionary way to restore damaged teeth in a single visit to our office. Cerec restorations are biocompatible, strong and beautiful. These restorations include crowns (caps), inlays, onlays and veneers that are metal free and very natural looking. The restorations are made with an infrared camera and Cad-Cam technology, thereby eliminating impressions.] [/color]
Two questions? 1) Does anyone know anything about Cerec? 2) Does this mean that the crowns are metal-free.....(no base metal)?
Thank you, Elaine

I am not positive, but the studies I read on their website make reference to ceremic materials, which usually contain aluminum.
I would look into this carefully as it is really bad to have aluminum exposure particularly after you've been exposed to mercury. Perhaps someone can send away for an info sheet and we'll analyze it.

Thank you Russ for answering me! I don't understand how they could call it metal-free if it has aluminum in it? Isn't aluminum a metal? This is what the cerec company says; [Using metal free materials that are the closest to your natural enamel, CEREC gives you the highest quality restorative care.] Here is their link....does this help? http://www.cereconline.com/ecomaXL/index.php?site=CEREC_Dentist_Materials-1Since I'll have to travel to get to this dentist, I like the idea of a one time appointment. I think I read that it takes like 5 minutes to make the crown and hopefully, I won't need a metal support for the crowns.....that would be sooo cool, not to have any metal in my mouth. I can't find a dentist (close to me) that uses diamond lite....but I can find a lot of dentists in Texas that use cerec. I totally don't understand the different materials and what they do to people's bodies....I really need help from someone who knows a lot more then I do. Thank you for all of your help.
