HI EVERYONE IT'S BILL AGAIN. I HAVE STOPPED TAKING THE DETOX NOW FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND THE SYMPTOMS ARE GETTING SO SEVERE THAT I AM GOING BACK TO THE DOCTOR FOR SOME HELP. I FEEL LIKE I COULD COLAPSE. I AM SO SHAKY AND WEEK AND THE PULSATION FEELINGS THROUGH MY BODY FROM MY HEAD TO MY FEET, THE HOT OR BURNING FEELINGS ALL OVER MY BODY, THE MUSCLE TWITCHING AND CRAMPING, THE HARD POUNDING HEARTBEAT FEELING IN MY CHEST AND ALSO MY PULSE IS VERY WELL FELT IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF MY BODY. I HOPE THAT ALL THIS IS MERCURY RELATED SO THAT I WILL KNOW THAT THIS WILL GET BETTER. I WAS ALSO WONDERING IF ANY ONE HAS EXPERIENCED A WORSENING OF THERE PROBLEMS WHILE DETOXING. I AM GOING TO TELL THE DOCTOR ALL OF THE THING I HAVE BEEN DOING AND WHAT I FEEL ABOUT MERCURY FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ON THIS FORUM. ALSO HAS ENYONE ELSE HAD THE SYMPTOMS BE CONSTANT AND NOT LET UP FOR WEEKS. THERE ARE TIMES THAT FEEL A LITTLE BETTER THAN OTHERS BUT ARE SHORT LIVED. IS ALL THIS NORMAL IN THE DETOX STAGES. LIKE I SAID IN EARLIER POSTS I STARTED TO DETOX THE DAY AFTER REMOVAL AND THIS COULD BE WHY I AM HAVING SUCH HELL WITH ALL OF THESE SYMPTOMS.

I would find a specialist that knows how to work with mercury and have blood work done.
I would make sure you continue the Algin but not any chelators. Make sure you're not taking sulphur foods and not having anything with MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) and not ingesting any NutraSweet. Also, no caffiene, no processed sugars and no seafood.
It's important to follow all of these rules. If you break only one just once every few days, you could have bad symptoms. For example, if you have just on cup of coffee every other day, it could ruin your next 3 days.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, take lots of vitamin C daily (2000 to 5000 mgs daily) (make sure there is no sugar in whatever brand you take) and vitamin E as well.
Also, are you on any medications?
Make sure you drink bottled water, not tap water. Make sure you use toothpaste that does not contain fluoride.
Do you have tattoos or dentures? They both likely contain mercury.
Stay away from breakfast cereals unless they're truly natural. None of the mainstream cereals (Special-K, Cheerios, etc.) are good for you.
Don't drink milk either.
Search for any other sources of exposure:
- Do you have any other types of fillings?
- Do you live near a power plant that is powered by coal?
- Is there lead in your house paint? You can get a testing key at Home Depot or Lowe's.
- Are you being exposed to aluminum? Mercury and aluminum are a deadly mix. Check for aluminum in your baked goods or medicines you may be taking (Ceck the ingredients).
- Do you have a food allergy (tomatoes, nuts, etc.)?
There is a cause for every symptom and it's just a matter of finding it. Unfortunately, a doctor that has no experience in heavy metal toxicity (if that is indeed the problem) may not help at all. He may just throw pharmaceuticals at you.
You may want to try CoQ10 for the heart issues; And make sure the vitamin E you take has selenium.
Let us know that answers to the questions if you can. It only takes one thing to make symptoms flare.

I don't have any words of wisdom for you but I just wanted you to know that I have been thinking about you all day today. I know that pounding heart is a terrible feeling. I hope you find the medical care you need. I have prayed for your comfort and healing and sometimes its just nice to know someone cares.

Bill, i'lll be joining Molly in praying for you.
Russ's post is very informative-- and true --
I swear, somehow mercury got dragged from one point of your body to another area that damaged your glands, or some organ- creating these chain reaction symptoms.
Keep taking Algin-- and nothing else for now- and drink lots of bottled water to cleanse out.
I reccomend Trinity Springs water-- its one of the very few that is totally natural and from protected springs --with no heavy metal contamination and natural minerals (magnesium, silica, etc)
hang in there!!!

I also had the pounding-heart symptom when I had amalgam fillings (before July 2000) but it only occured when I stood up or did something that required a little strength. It was severe and I began telling my friend Laura that I truly thought I was going to die.
Now, I only experience this occasionally when I'm doing something really strenuous, and it's now only a very small fraction of what it used to be. It's still getting better over time.
Take it one day at a time. Methodically determine what the best solution for each symptom is?one-by-one?then slowly and gently detox while keeping a close eye on symptoms. It's not easy, but well worth it.
Mercury detox is a game of endurance, not speed.

It's been just over one week since I had my fillings replaced. After a brief painful period I started feeling really good, excellent in fact. But one I'm starting to feel like I did before, perhaps even a bit worse. I'm detoxing with coriander/cilantro and chlorella. Since I started feeling bad I stopped with the coriander, as I figured it'd mobilised so much mercury my body was having a hard time coping. Today I was even considering stopping with the chlorella, which binds to and removes the mercury. Then I read this article: Healing Reactions Versus Allergic Reactions:Whenever a person makes enough positive changes in diet and/or herbs so that the body releases toxins, those toxins can sometimes be felt as a "healing reaction." A healing reaction is NOT the same thing as a side effect of a medication. A healing reaction can feel uncomfortable, but it is actually a sign that the body is healing itself. As toxic wastes are released from fat cells, liver cells, brain cells, kidneys, and other organs, they go into the bloodstream. Sometimes during herbal therapy, people can taste in their mouth drugs that they have not taken in many years. This is an indication that old medication residues have been released and are now working their way out of the body. Many symptoms from the past can temporarily reappear during an herbal cleansing program - fatigue, joint pains, muscle aches, headaches, dizziness, weakness, itching, etc. This is nothing to be concerned about, but rather something to be glad about. [there's more on the site explaining more, I suggest you read it] So I'm going to keep on with the chlorella. However, your circumstances may be different to mine, your body certainly is. Use your intuition. If you feel like you're going to collapse any minute then I'd probably stop. But I'm not as I'm hoping this is just part of the process.

I've heard that too- and believe it! It's the same thing with skin conditions too. If you stop taking steroid cremes after many years- you may notice your skin will break out something horrible. It's all the chemicals and hormones from all those years of that cream coming out of the skin tissues and through the pores.
Thanks for your post on this :-)

Magnesium will also help with the heart pounding and other related heart symptoms.

Absolutely.
The health practitioners we hang with call this a "healing crisis." Of couse, it's a good thing even though it sounds bad.
I encountered this euphoric feeling just after my removal and then I went down hill and then proceeded to have a rollar coaster ride for many months. Although the "trend line" was up, I had some really bad days.
For this exact reason, I always recommend that people not immediately start on a mobilising detox plan after the removal. Give the body a few weeks to stabilize and adjust to the new mouth chemistry first, then start detoxing slowly. At least that's the way I like to do it. You have to be able to live and function during the detox process, plus it's always good to be on the safe side when dealing with mercury mobilizers.
Just a thought. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Russ, I know that you said that you had yours out 5 years ago, but when did you start seeing symptoms going away?

Hi Bill You have remove the fillings recently? then it is better to drink a lot of water (springswater) do this 3 monts and then start the detoxing again, if have still symtoms then get smaller dosis of the detox until you don,t have severe problems, and do this antoher 3 monts then you can start with selenium 100 micrograms best is 2 of 50 microgram daily use a good supplier selenium is toxic if you use more then 200 mircogram daily, 100 is oke. Use also a good multivitamine drrath has good ones, www.drrath.com/I am myself also a mercury sufferrer, but now it is 4 years ago and now the symtomes become milder, but sometimes I have still body sensations like a pounded heart, mecrcury stays a long time in your body, afer 20 years only half of the mecury is gone if you don,t detox, so Bill keep se the good time will come, and stay with detox, and the multivitamins, also amino axic will work like arginine and q10 for your heart. greetings kees Holland.

I agree with Holland about the CoQ10. In my opinion, based on the research I've done, it's a must for anyone with any type of heart or circulatory problem. In Dr. Cutler's book Amalgam Illness, he also recommends CoQ10 for heart pain , along with L-arginine, L-carnitine and lots of magnesium. Here are some info sheets so you can read more about how these supplements help the heart and cardiovascular system: CoQ10L-ArginineL-CarnitineMagnesium

Mercury symptoms went away the next morning. I felt euphoric; better than I ever have in my life. During the next couple days, I went back downhill somewhat, but not completely.
For the next several months, it was a rollar coaster ride, but the trend line was up.
I have noticed real "milestones" in my recovery. These are times when I noticed a specific kind of recovery very quickly. For example, my memory slowly improved over the fist 3 years, however, about 1 1/2 years ago, I had a dramatic improvement in memory that seemed to happen in the space of a few weeks. I started remembering things like I never could before, plus, numerous memories from childhood that had been "lost" were back with vividness. I could not stop talking about it not only because of how great it is to have a great memory, but to have all those childhood memories back. It was really strange in a really great way. It was as if someone was showing me a movie of my past that I'd seen before but completely forgotten.
I would never tell anyone to expect immediate results like I did, however, I believe most or nearly all should?provided they're on a good detox program?see dramatic changes over time.
As for me, I've never felt better and have never been as emotionally and spiritually strong as I am now. My personal growth has accelerated 10 to 20 times since the removal in 2000.

I hope that happens to me, Russ. I just started detoxing last September so it seems like I have a long way to go. There are brief periods of time when I feel well but I always fall into a black hole again. I feel like I'm in hell. I want to get out of hell but I can't do it, at least not for very long. Do you think that a year is long enough to see significant improvement? Mercury symptoms went away the next morning. I felt euphoric; better than I ever have in my life. During the next couple days, I went back downhill somewhat, but not completely.

Aaron,
I look at it this way.
When you're detoxing, you'll be moving stuff out (mercury). Some of this stuff will be redistributed in your body (less if you're taking Algin, which is fundamental to mercury detox!).
If you stop detoxing, you'll usually have a day or three where you'll feel great because the body is in a "mode" of dealing with high mercury levels and had made adjustments for it. When the detoxing stops, mercury redistribution is at a minimum.
When you start up again, you'll feel extra worse until your body copes with it and make adjustments again.
It's important to consider that, when you're detoxing, the horrible feelings you experience can be largely controlled if you know the cause. For example, if your experiencing low energy, it could be low iodine, which can be corrected, or low T3, which can be corrected, or high homocysteine levels, which can be corrected, etc. Most likely, it will be a combination of these things.
I would look at each issues one at a time and work on finding a supplement or dietary change that will help with that particular symptom, then move on to the next. This way, detox does not really have to be so horrible.
It's important to keep written records of how you feel and what you ate that day. This way, you can find patterns. This is very very important and a suprisingly small number of people do this. When you do, however, you will probably be shocked at how easily you make connections between particular symptoms and their cause.
As I often tell people, it's never magic. Every single symptoms has a cause and finding the cause is the key. It's like fixing a car or house. Just deal with one issue at a time and narrow in on the cause.
You said there are brief periods when you feel well. Can you find a pattern to this. Keep written records and see what surfaces and let us know.
Please keep us posted.
