Greetings all,

I've just taken the plunge and taken my first two of seven amalgams out. I feel just as I'd expected based on what I've been reading. Pretty awful.

I did exactly what had been suggested. A couple of days ago, I started taking algin (just arrived in the mail) and felt better than I had in years. Incredibly productive - obviously the peripheral mercury was being dealt to.

Today was the day for the first extractions. As suggested, I took 6 algin an hour before. Feeling fantastic, I went to the dentist. He was careful. Dental dam, AK (?) machine, face covered. As Russ suggested, I even put activated charcoal under my tongue - renewed for each amalgam, and then after the procedure for a couple of minutes. I took a big shower afterwards.

Felt fine for another hour. It's now been about four hours, and up until a few minutes ago, I felt as if I hadn't slept for a week. Serious brain fog, inability to balance, lethargy. I was getting seriously worried. About half an hour ago, I popped 5 more algin, 1000mg Vitamin C, and E with Selinium (thanks Laura), and am starting to feel slightly more normal.

Frustratingly, the dentist thought I was bizarre taking so much time with all of this. He really thought the charcoal was odd. Not surprisingly, he still places amalgams. I'm not sure what else I can do for the next four, except just grin an bear it.

Of course if anybody has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. I won't be beginning chelation till a couple of months after the final replacements.

Eric

Did you get oxygen supply? If not, you might have breathed in some mercury vapour. Also, if the surgery isn't mercury free, then there may have been some in the air.

I agree w/Demi.

If the dentist still places amalgams, the office is likely loaded with mercury. I suspect you will get progressively better over the next day or two.

A couple more things that should help...

Make sure to shower thoroughly when you get home to get all mercury off your hair and skin. I would shampoo 2 or 3 times. Also, wash your clothes immediately. Also, you may want to take up to 8,000 mg of vitamin C the day of the removal. Spread it out evenly throughout the day.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

Hi, Here's a fun experiment. Get some amalgams out the day before you leave for Europe. Having a panic attack on an airplane has to be experienced to be believed. Thanks for your replies.

The dentist didn't give me air, but there was some sort of machine from Sweden (I think) that was meant to suck up the airborn merucury.

As instructed, I went home immediately, had a thorough shower and washed my clothes. I felt fine the rest of the day, but things started getting bad by the evening (which is when I last wrote.) I got on the plane at 1pm the next day, and was basically unconcious until we touched down on the next stop some hours later.

On the next leg, the tinitus started, accompanied by the feeling that I couldn't breathand that I was incredibly dehydrated, even though I kept drinking water. Several hours later (the entire trip took 44 hours), only the knowledge of what had happened to me kept me from actually believing that I was going to die.

The Algin has been a saviour, and I've been popping it with Vits C, B & E, and Magnesium. I started with 5 three times a day, and am now down to 2 three times a day. I've still got 4 more to go. One is actually a wisdom tooth which is 40% filling. I'm just going to have it extracted. I hope that will distrub less of the mercury.

The thing of course is that being in New Zealand, I'm actually lucky to find a dentist who will take any precautions at all. I know he'd think I was a nutcase if I told him about my experiences. So, I'm not sure what I can do. I definately want them out of my head, so I think it's just a matter of managing it for the first few weeks.

Defiinately looking forward to chelation once this is all over.

Thanks,

Eric

Wow, what an experience.

You may have had some mercury exposure during the removal, or your body may be starting to "dump" mercury. Detox can certainly be a rollar coaster but it's so worth it.

When I was on the roller coaster, I kept telling myself:

"Mercury detox is a game of endurance, not speed."

Hi you guys, I have a question!

Russ , Laura and folks,

When do you start to experience the Mercury Dump?
As you know (from me always posting this all the time..lol!)
I had 8 metal fillings replaced every other month or so- til the last two were replaced in September.

A week later I got a bad cold-- The first one in over a year.
It got better fast with continual detoxing and nutrition. (so there is hope for mercury dump!)

Then I find I get more PMS symptoms (facial rashes on cheeks and eyes, constipation and facial blemishes) Also am very adrenal fatigued during the week before my Period.

Then yesterday I was cleaning out our mice infested Cellar and throwing out moldy /rusted cans of food into garbage bag, cleaning up old mice feces , and cleaning up chemical spills from household floor waxes in the basement..,

After several hours, I noticed my eyes swell up and were red and itchy-- and my cheeks also had temporary acne roseaca-- just from being exposed to these toxins in the air.

These, so far have been the only Mercury dump symptoms since I got the last two out.

I naturally love raw nuts and garlic, and make sure I get good bowel movements-- so I never stay constipated for long.

I also am eating lots of raw apples and am taking my Algin with Chlorella , etc, etc.

so are these things -- ya think-- helping me from having a worse mercury dump than I normally would?

I know that many people actually do have horrible Mercury dump symptoms- where they cant even get out of bed! And I read some of these people had less fillings than i did.

I thank God that the most I can complain about so far is a slightly weaker immune system since the last filling removal. And also, I find that taking natural Anti-viral herbs, etc, have helped me heal fast- in spite of mercury dump being the original cause.

Would you say you're feeling better now you've had them removed or are you still waiting for a mercury dump?

Actually, There were annoying symptoms I'd get that have gone for good now since the last metal filling was removed:

1- Heart palpitations- or heart murmur like beats.
2- Anxiety
3- a need to talk very rapidly-- and getting tongue tied
4- Dizzy spells- where sometimes i"d have to hold onto a table or i'd fall.
5-Gums are all healthy and firm-- lower bottom teeth no longer shift back and forth (and these werent even teeth involved with any fillings)

6-No more migraines!

7- Better breathing and able to get more air in my lungs when I excersize.

(there are more, but you get the point)

I must be still waiting for Mercury Dump to hit me yet, or else, I am going through it and just dont know it.

Maybe the colds and rashes , acne breakouts near lips, and worse PMS are part of the Mercury Dump ?

It seems some people get Mercury Dumping back into their body about 2 weeks after their last filling replacement. Some get it several months later i guess. Maybe that will be me.

Does the fact that I got them out slowly and detoxed in between each dental visit for months-- going on all sorts of cleanses in the meatime, and eating radically healthy - mostly foods that normally chelate heavy metals out of the body to begin with, mean that maybe I wont have as bad a time dealing with mercury dump as I feared?

Mercury dump usually starts within 24 to 48 hours after the removal of the last amalgam, according to (Huggins).

Thanks Russ !

I'll still be chelating anyways- I noticed that I feel better more and more (in spite of the cold and acne, and PMS) and will eventually start with the Alpha Lipoic Acid.

My memory still needs improvement and I feel that though I may steadily getting a slow amount of mercury out of me daily-- there may be some lodged in my brain. At least I dont get migraines at all anymore. so I know there was a amalgam filling connection with that..

My dad also has bad memory--and has many metal fillings. He wont get them out either, he's stubborn.

Russ, do you think that my body would be starting to dump mercury now, even with four fillings left to remove (including one wisdom tooth that's 40% metal?) How do you recognise an amalgam dump vs. exposure? I'm not sure I could do anything about it either way, of course.

Yes, definately a game of endurance. Fortunately, my good days far outweigh the bad, and have so after about a week or 10 days after removal.

One last question - I'm going to have that wisdom tooth removed, instead of having it drilled. Seems the best way, and it's an extraneous tooth anyway. Is there any indication that a tooth extraction stirs up merucury in the same way that drilling does?

Thanks,

Eric

Hey Eric,

I think that is rather hard to do until more research is done. Either condition would be handled the same way, however, at least for now?until we know more about mercury detox as a science.

I've never seen scientific information on this, however, I imagine tooth extraction would mobilize much less mercury than amalgam removal because the amalgam is not drilled the same way or to the same extent as with amalgam removal.

One thing to be aware of here. Many dentists don't remove the periodontal nerve all the way to the jaw, which?according to the information I've read?causes chronic infection, and worse, the bacteria in the infection creates sulphur compounds. These compounds are especially harmful to mercury toxic people and can cause darkened discoloring at the gumline. This darkening (according to Haley) is cause by metal concentrations bound by the sulphur groups. Other sources I've read say this condition (the periodontal nerve left behine) can cause a number of health issues that are not associated with dentistry in mainstream medicine. Perhaps this is something to speak to your dentist about before the procedure.

Thanks Russ, I have the extraction set for three weeks time. They've seen me coming this time and were very careful to explain everything ("here he comes again...") I'll ask about the tooth going down to the nerve. I'm sure he'll say "of course we do," but whether that truly is the case... well... You can see I'm developing a healthy mistrust of dentistry!

I'm assuming it would still be advisable to pop a bunch of algin before the operation, and shower etc. I'm assuming that I'll stay at my normal 2x3 dosage, even after the extraction, but just see how it goes. Sound reasonable?

Fun, fun.

Sounds like a good plan. I would be inclined to double-up on the algin the day before and a few days after just to handle any additional toxic load.

Many people are becoming amazed after having second opinions that they really don't need fillings when their first dentist said they did. It's amazing how many people tell "little white lies" for a buck or two.

I doubt I ever had a single cavity and now the bulk of my life has been spent in the dark depression and opression of mercury toxicity to make another mans car payment.

Honesty is the only policy!
