having removed my 13 silver fillings over the past year, i recently undertook a DMPS challenge test and the results indicate that i'm highly mercury contaminated... i have had four gold crowns put in about a month ago (i could not wait since i already needed a root canal and my teeth were in bad shape and needed crowns) and still have 3 more gold crowns to go (currently cement fillings, but not doing so well). now i am reading that it's impossible to detox the mercury from your jaw and brain if you have gold in your mouth since it acts like a magnet for the mercury!! i am devastated, as there is no way i can remove the gold crowns after just having spend thousands of dollars on putting them in. does anyone have any advice? is chelation and Hg removal, especially from the brain (most of my symptoms are neurological), still possible with gold crowns?
by the way my gold crowns are very pure and don't contain palladium, only a bit of platin.
thanks so much for any advice snail

Very good question. We need to know about this as I know several family members with gold fillings.

It is possible to detox mercury with gold crowns. I am doing it although it may be slower than without them. I had my last mercury fillings out last January and have been slowly detoxing and feeling better. I have had great luck with the algin Russ talks about. It accelerated the detox and minimized the side effects. I have gold crowns with no palladium on most of my teeth. Before I replaced the crowns I did have a dental materials compatibility test. I have had some pretty good improvement with increased energy and mental shapness and decreased anxiety and some improvement with fibromyalgia symptoms. I am hoping to get better as the months pass. I think no matter what if you are heavily mercury contaminated it may take months to a few years to detoxify. It is better to do it slowly. Cetain vitamins and supplements can help. Goodluck!!

I concur with notech.
I have 2 gold crowns and have made really good progress just with light chelation in the past 6 months.
I panicked when I heard that gold makes mercury detox next to impossible, but I dont think this is the case at all for active aggressive chelation with ALA, chlorella, modifylan or the like..

I've not read about it being impossible to detox with gold, but I have read that having dissimilar metals in your mouth at the same time (if you still have amalgams and gold crowns) can cause a lot more problems.
